Thoughts On .us.com domains

As far as a search engine is concerned, it makes no difference what so ever which TLD you use. From a user perspective however, there is a big difference. Internet users view .coms as most trustworthy for a commercial site. They also feel this way about .org's and some about .net's however people associate different meanings still with those TLD's. .orgs are often associated with non-profits or non-business related organizations (even though anyone can purchase the .org version of a TLD. Many novice internet users don't even realize that there are dozens of different TLD's.
I would suggest that if you are running a commercial operation online, try and get the .com version of a TLD. If you can't get that, go after the .org or the .net. If those aren't available, rethink the name.

Well you are really comparing apples to oranges here; a regular domain vs a subdomain managed by a company. One of the larger issues I can forsee with a quazi domain is in the future you don't have any control of the domain should the company go out of business, decide to no longer provide services, ect.

Go with .com if available. .us is good if you want visitors from USA mainly.

It's a subdomain, never use subdomains unless no other option. Co.uk is fine, co.nz or co.za are fine, but us.com is NOT fine.
