Thoughts on starting a GP business

Hi I was wondering if someone can help answer a few questions about guest posts as a business and all. Is it feasible to invest in buying expired high auth domains and setting up websites for guest posts only. I mean it's usually $50-$100 a post and sky is the limit. How many domains is good to start with and how much estimated initial capital is required, will love to hear from the experts who are in the game

Its 5$ a post not 50$ a post. That's what resellers will ask you. Then they sell it as a seo service on fiverr.
Guest post business is flooded with resellers from pakistan who resell on fiverr. They got teams and huge networks.
You can never be able to sell them for 50$ or compete against them.

I would believe that the prices of guest post articles have decreased. When AI came into the picture. The quality of certain articles has clearly improved through the AI.

Of course, prices will bounce. The domain would have to be good enough to get 50 - 100€ per article.
You could kind of start with one page and see how it goes. Then you could bring in a guy to the project that you trust. Who has another site or more, and then if this potential buyer wants more. Then this other site comes into play, and you then take a "commission" from that.
I would think that quite a few people here do this. Many people seem to have their own clan. Where things just revolve around the same guys.

But I believe in the potential of what you wrote. But it is vital to know what the overall theme and brand of your site.
Many do not have any kind of brand on their site. I personally classify these as spam sites.

I own a DR60 website with ~700k monthly visitors, almost all U.S. visitors. I get about 10-15 guest post requests via email a day. My pricing has always been $100 per guest post, as I don't think the effort is worth the money for less. Every person who has emailed me has countered with a max offer of about $30. I've never sold a single guest post for more than $50. It's also super annoying and time consuming as they will want to go back and forth negotiating about 10-15 times, incrementing by $5 each time.

I don't think selling guest posts is a sustainable business in 2026, unless you're running your own PBN and selling guest post packages. If I ever see a massive drop my in Google rankings, or I can't monetize the site any longer with display ads, I may go back to guest posts as a last resort for monetization, but I'll likely just jump to the next opportunity.

This is not advisable; domain names depend on your company's image or brand, so you don't need to pay too much attention to the domain name.

Higher authority domains are worth it. Start with a solid portfolio and scale gradually based on demand.
