Thoughts on my SEO backlink strategy?

I am startup offering local seo/social for tier 3 city in US. I have 1 client, a local hair salon for which I am struggling to rank them.

For now we created
- Blog Posts (300 words , not the best of kind)
- Citations (100)

If you don't mind can I discuss with you strategies/services that I could use to get them ranked.

I understand that testing each service would make my SEO efforts more accurate. But I'm afraid I just can't test these things - except for the BHW link package. All the links I buy are from different sites and niches, so I just pay attention that the niche is appropriate and DA as high as possible. Organic traffic is a big plus too.

What are you asking? will it work? I don't know. I did not try working with any of your sources and I don't know what niches you are targeting. The only way to know if this is a good direction is to try it and see. You need to take a website , choose keywords and start ranking it. Only then you will know if what you are using is good.

For cheaper clients,

You can do web2.0s, press release (cision if possible), profile links (mostly on authority and niche related sites), few niche edits & guest posts.

That'll do good for a $1000 budget client.

You can ask the client to increase the budget once you make them 50%+ ROI using SEO (as the budget increases you can increase the quality of the links)

You can try adding some Citation sites if your clients are looking for local SEO
Also Social Publishing too (Hire a designer and ask your client if he wants you to publish daily in social sites.)
GMB posting (Reviews + Questions + posting an image daily)

OP, how many test sites of your own do you have that you actually test SEO methods on and over what time period do you run these tests?

But I thought the result of the auto process does not beat the manual result.

Hold your horses I guess I didn't explain it well enough. I use 500-700 words "normally readable" articles ONLY for guest posts and other submissions, that serve only one purpose - giving context for the link going to my site.

The page I want to rank is always high quality, longer than competition and better quality. I do my research. That's a given.

I just don't see any point in writing high quality articles with lots of research for some random site that won't get many visits. In my book, some articles are meant to reading and giving value, others are made for backlinks and giving context to the link.


I only have 2 sites for testing. But I find it really hard to judge what actually moved the needle. Gotta be more systematical and patient with it I guess.

A common mistake a lot of people make is they buy several services all at the same time then can't actually tell which works, which doesn't, which is safe or which is toxic.

How long should I wait after the link is indexed to judge the results?
