One significant distinction is that Instagram posts can be shared on Threads without simply showing as a link.

This will be an absolute banger in my opinion. Among all the social media platforms getting followers on Instagram is the easiest.
But the only downside was, there weren't too many explicit options to promote links (except for stories and bio which weren't effective).
Threads will get rid of that restriction. Watch the CPA spammers go on a wild frenzy with the threads and clever captions.

Definitely looks cool, but is mostly empty I think. It doesn’t even show you how many views your threads are making, which is a bummer. It doesn’t have hashtags which is another bummer.
Really hope the dev team will introduce these features atleast. Right now, not sure whether to call it good or bad.

Update!
So, a day later and there are some upcomming things on the list:
- (simple) Multi account option in the Threads app
- Hashtags
- Better search options, for words eg.
- Editing a post
- Translation option
- Home tab, just for people you follow
- Chronological feed option
- Priority is app, but they working on a web interface
No priority on Ads right now. They first want people to stay before they worry about making money
Also no priority for DMs. They want to keep things simple instead of another inbox on your phone.

I am actually surprised that most of these features aren't life yet. Especially searching for actual content instead of users only - now it's basically Instagram with less features.

I just installed it and it's so messy. I don't even know what should I do with unnecessary posts popping up on my homescreen from random ass people that I dont even know.

Bunch of strangers indeed. Targeted with help from Instagram I think. Even if i follow 0 people on Threads, they still now what I may like.

It's just V1, and maybe they thought this is the right moment with everything that's happening on twitter.

Threads is gonna be the best app I think! Even now it has a lot of users and will grow more and more. Definitely better choice than Twitter I think. Lets see what it will bring to us

I think it's a really good app and will be developed a lot in a short time. Because of all the things have been happening on Twitter, people needed another platform and that will definitely be Threads.
