Hi guys,

I run a basketball blog, have a lot of unique written content and just general nba news everyone else posts. In my posts i include images, with a good description in them. I find through my stats that a large number of my visitors come through a google image search.

I recently expanded the site adding videos and pictures pages. In the past week i have averaged 400 views a day, compared to 150 when i didn't have a large number of images. Quite a few visitors will click off the image and search the rest of the site. Others just get the image and go.

Is there anwyay i can capitalize on my visitors coming through an image search? Is having visitors coming through an image search any good?

Thoughts please? :)

Cheers

I'd love to know this too, was just about to post a thread like this. I have a site with 300 visitor's a day and most are via google images. Would love to know, thanks!

If you run a blog in wordpress, then you should use the SEO friendly images plugin. It will help you a lot to get more traffic through google image search.

Thanks for the tip but that's not the answer i'm after.

I'm getting a large amount of visitors through image searches. I'm wondering if people are for or against this? Or is just as simple as viewers are viewers who cares how you get them?

Three things you can do:

1. Watermark all your images with your URL

2. Use some frame-busting code to send people to your site (and not just peep your images)

3. Use some code to prohibit right-clicking (and copying the image URL) and put a "share" code underneath each pic on your site with a proper link all nice and pre-formatted. (That way, hotlinkers will probably use your code and put an actual link to your site when posting one of your pics in a forum or wherever.)
