I'm a great admirer of http://www.useronboard.com/
The guy looks at popular apps and walks through the user signup steps. Critiquing each step and offering his comments on what they do well, and what they do poorly.
He is essentially giving valuable expertise advice, for free. He establishes authority for himself by doing this.
I want to do something similar, but by examining businesses websites, social media marketing and general marketing presence. Critiquing what I think they could be doing better. Better offers, better data capture, better website CTA's and copywrite... even keyword opportunities to take advantage of with articles and PPC.
Does anyone know of anyone doing anything similar? The way to get the clients is contacting them over the phone and through email, letting them know about the critique after it is completed. Hopefully they will be impressed and want me to implement some of the strategies. Or their inhouse marketing guy will get a lot of free tips
It will still ultimately help me establish credibility in my skills and show off my expertise. Plus, it opens up a lot of content creation opportunities.
