Thoughts on a refund

Hey so i was contacted by someone on telegram to purchase two domains from me i explained to him that my expired domains come with a website he picked two we agreed on the price and the transfer was complete then after the transfer the guy is asking me how to import the files into wordpress meaning he though the two websites are built on wordpress even tho i never was asked what back-end/script they were using. one of the websites is using a custom script and the other is a html website the guy sounded like he was regretting the deal and i felt some kind of way so i offered him a refund did i do the right thing here ?

keep in mind one of the websites value is heavily based on the content and he already got those files that he later on can use
curious what would you do in this situation was i wrong not to declare the scripts/back-end from the start or was the buyer at fault for not asking ?

also the amount i withdrew to my bank account so now the buyer has to wait 5 days for the money to arrive into my bank account for me to issue a refund and it will be less than what he paid due to bank fees and paypal fees should the buyer or seller in this case take on the fees ?

It's not your fault he didn't do is diligence before buying the site
This is not an app,
The difference is just that it's wordpress based

i did exactly that designed an article template for him gave him a chatgpt prompt based on the template to populate the template with the article. he was happy so was i for not having to deal with refunds. i offered the refund twice and both times he declined insisting on moving forward so i tried to make sure he doesn't leave with a bad taste in his mouth

I'm still curious tho is it the seller job to declare every single aspect of his product or is it the buyer job to ask ? at times we assume the buyers know what they are getting but that's not always the case

In my opinion, you should have declared that these are custom script sites, not the traditional ones like WP. But also, the buyer didn't ask for it, so you should cut the fees and refund him the amount that you received in your bank account.

And even if the sites are custom-made, he can still use the content and make it the WP site. But again, he would need to pay someone to do this job, or he could do it himself if that's possible.

from now on I'm not selling anything without jumping on a phone call with the buyer too much headache to deal with the aftermath overall am glad i was able to provide him with a solution that worked for him.

yeah he asked if i can import the site into wordpress i told him i can but the cost will be higher than what he paid for the website so he said no to that option

Mention everything before making a deal; it will show transparency from your end, and it will also save you from stress and refunds.

If it's possible to convert the sites into WordPress, then he can probably get someone to do the job for a lower price or so. Because if the domains are good, then he probably doesn't wanna lose them due to this issue.
