Thoughts about proxy types and their reliability

Hi guys, I was reading this thread https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/manage-100-accounts-on-antidetect-browser.1638863/ and the discourse deviated towards proxies. I see a lot of people recommend mobile proxies.

The reason is mainly that mobile ISPs make heavy use of natting, so each IP is shared between 30-100 users at each time. Of course this means no Meta or Alphabet can remotely think of banning or even penalizing these IPs. This is the main reason behind mobile proxies superb resilience.

But, to my surprise and after a cue from a friend, I have noted that land lines operators are starting to do the same thing. My Vodafone fttc connection is natted!!! No more public IPs even for land lines users. Doesn't this give the same level of resilience enjoyed by mobile IPs?

The only "feature" mobile proxies have is that more and more users are migrating towards a mobile-only online life, so there will be a time ( maybe ) when having a land line IP will be a sign of fraud. But for now not even running a mobile OS and apps on a land line IP can be considered strange, because many times we use our mobile devices from wifi connections served by some kind of DSL, fiber, etc...

So what do you think? And what are your experiences? I am very curious, because IPs are one of the most important variables when it comes to mass usage of accounts on social platforms.

Because, Internet is made of mobile users only , there are desktop users, servers , iots , other machines etc which are utilising landlines, data center isps etc.

So your assumption that mobile are only good is not correct.

It all depends on use case and budget.
 
NAT is not the reason why mobile IPs are more "liked" by FB and others.
The main reason why they are preferred is that you can change mobile IP address in seconds and you can have a huge pool of IP addresses using mobile proxies.
BUT having mobile IP address is not the guarantee that you will have "green light" for any activity. (there are many mobile subnets that are being listed as "bad" by FB and others)

Detecting fraud or manipulations is a complex cat-mouse game involving many-many factors.
Applications like Tik-Tok and FB are collecting thousands! pieces of data from your device and connection and all of them are being analyzed, creating unique fingerprint.
No one will tell you the 100% working recipe of how they make their business, because this is commercial secret.

isn't the same true for land lines ips? proxy services state that you can change your residential ip through link and they have 10-15 minutes rotation time too ( usually ) ... maybe the mobile pool is bigger because there are 3 times more mobile devices than PCs

of course, but my reasoning is that if 98% of Facebook users access it through mobile, by using a non mobile ip you are already saying "hey I am one of those creators/spammers/marketers"...I bet their algorithms put accounts using non mobile ips under heavier scrutiny

this is a point I would like to elaborate more, specifically in the mobile landscape

as for PCs, access to these platforms happens mainly through web browsers, so we know more or less what variables are considered, because we know what variables such web applications can access through the browser ( after all browsers are sandboxes first and foremost )

but on the mobile side I am appalled, because ( for example ) the FB app could theoretically analyze its own code section to verify it is ARM code and not X86....this would be the most "simple" way to detect an emulator

on of course there are dozens of other "leaking" parameters ( some esotic like timings ) that can be used
 
p.s. I want to add something to the discussion, because in my journey to find the perfect proxy seller I have come to a website selling IPv6 proxies!!! and this is something I was thinking about yesterday, considering that the IPv6 pool is massive ( to say the least )

having the choice to buy entire subnets ( I mean the sellers buy entire subnets ) each and every day, should be a good way to ditch banned IPs very fast and switch them with brand new ones

so I wonder if it can give an advantage in the game of cat and mouse against social networks algos

and honestly I don't even know how much IPv6 is really used today...my country, for example, is firmly anchored to IPv4, with no end in sight!! hope it isn't true for the rest of the world
 
IPv6 is good when you can switch subnets.
There is no need in NAT when you have almost unlimited amount of addresses, but that could have another side:
I have been in the situation when provider binds IPv6 address to a particular sim with particular device MAC.

yeah this is what I was thinking too! also the problem is that a specific ISP contract/account is linked to the prefix the ISP gives to that particular user, so Facebook and friends don't even need to scan the entire 128 bits address, just the 56 or 64 bits prefix

this is a problem particularly with incompetent sellers that could just buy a single prefix and then resell single IPs from this prefix/subnet!! would be a disaster for their entire clientele

and sadly I have seen that many of them don't explain from where the IPs are allocated...heck many of them don't even prominently mention IPv6 in their websites
