Hey folks,

I want to talk about the BST design craziness here.
I am sure many sell over their designs, and pretty good skills are visible here and there.
But what I really think when i see all these flashy superman and cartoon BSTs is "how can one take all this serious?". Which kind of business man feel attached to such designs?
Sure, nothing against creativity! Some are really creative and fun to watch - really I like it, I even thought about dropping a small "Hot or Not" - style website, for BST graphics as I found it to became a culture on its own. But on the other hand, most of us are here for business, and the designs with all the cartoons remind me more to what I can find in the room of my 12 year old son.

However, this kind of designs seem to work, otherwise nobody would doing it. There must be many kids around buying services for their first steps with aff sites.
Most likely this is the target group and main purpose of the most links sold here on BHW. As the easy link and rank party of the ninties is over, there is to much risk for serious business sites to use them.

What are your thoughts about this "BST design culture", do you like it or do you feel tapping through a jungle of un-serious offers? Interested to read your opinions! Please don't take it as offense to anyone, I am just curious.

Honestly, I am VERY disappointed I have not seen an Entourage themed SEO service yet.

Turtle - $97/month
Johnny Drama - $197/month
E - $297/month
Vinnie Chase - $397/month
Ari Gold - $997/month

With a 100% #1 ranking guarantee of course.

Come on...someone step up to the plate and give the world what they want!

I kind of like the over hyped designs, it says to me that the seller is enthusiastic about what they are selling compared to a seller who just uses plain text.

However, I would prefer to buy off somebody who uses evidence in their sales thread rather than just images alone.

I feel like there are going to be some butt hurt BST owners posting.

There are, imo, 2 main trains of thought about what sort of BST design to go with, either a text heavy that will rank in SEs or use an overly visual one.

Personally I have used both and they both perform well, without an identical product it is really hard to say which converts best.

I agree the trend to use copyrighted bullshit to try and sell things is bullshit, it looks tacky as shit and I wouldn't touch them tbh. I will always try to look past the fluff and promises for what the service actually does deliver and make my decisions based off of that.

Sadly I appear to be in the minority here as most BSTs seem to be covered with designs intended to wow the less informed.

Assuming that a seller is "more enthusiastic" because they have a visual BST design is exactly the problem.

Everyone likes different things. At the end of the day if it's attracting customers then it's doing it's job. People follow what works.

Some of the threads are seriously bad, they think they have come up with a winning concept but it is clear they are dressing the same old shit up by making the service fit a Movie/TV/Viral theme.
Usually just visit those threads for giggles, would never seriously consider using them.
Tell me what you have to offer, why I should use you and the price, forget the other bullshit.

You are right W130sn, it is all just about the contents of a service and nothing else. Because once you receive the service, it will have nothing to do with the BST theme. So do you think that eye candy BST design is just another link of a chain to make more people earn on one BST? Just some kind of standard that developed over the time, but is actually not needed to drive sales?

I really would love to see an A/B test on that here. My personal guess is, like I said, the main circle of BST buyers are novice, young people that are impressed by that and therefore it turns into more sales.

Yeah, I think it is designed for noobs and the naive, also it means that people can recycle the same service every year or so, just by rebranding with a Movie theme.
I put more trust in SEO Sellers that talk SEO and guide people in their threads and help people on the forum.
I have no problem with eye candy as long as the full details of the service are outlined within the thread, but some threads are clearly just designed to attract and possibly confuse noobs.
Yes, in a competitive marketplace you may need to make your thread stand out, but people should remember they are also dealing with professionals and most professionals are more interested in what you can do, rather than some Comic Book themed sales thread, IMO.

I like some of the designs, but hate them mostly because I have to scroll down to the end to see the prices and the actual strategy of link building.

Couldn't have put it any better than that.

I rarely even notice the themes used, i scroll straight to whats provided and the price then move on if im not convinced.

Even worse when you get to the end and you realize you gotta pm OP for the price.

And now many start thinking to work on it alike me.

Well, at least Skyrocket hasn't made the efforts for nothing.

This is what I think about it:

Sums it up pretty well!
I also recognized that everyone and his mother are answering questions per PM - this is annoying and a sales killer (with people like me).

Brace yourselves, this is how it goes. Occasionally a real business owner may land onto a Superman/Spiderman thread but all would be short term and probably a negative experience. It's a business model that works for similar communities and earns money for BHW which is essential to keep the forum going. So no one should be offended as you get what you paid for.

Once again, the only issue is that some people are only focused on making quick cash instead of providing any actual value for their customers. Doesn't look quite different from WF nowadays, apart from having less sales threads.

In the end of the day, whoever wants to succeed will be actually providing an excellent service and you will know about it. I'd avoid anything else and I've actually quit purchasing any SEO related service on here.

Yes i also like some of my design mate..

I'm sure you're making a killing here. Pushed me off the moment I opened your sales thread. Good luck though....
