This Video Destroyed NFTs

"Coffeezilla interviews the man who built NFTBay, the site where you can pirate any NFT: Geoffrey Huntley explains why he did it, what NFTs are and why it's all a scam in its present form"

Any rebuttals?
This guy is a goat

On the listings I looked at, they all had the skull & crossbones beside them, which means virus, lol

NFTs are a GOOD IDEA. Only that. Right now people is speculating about it and trying to get money.
I think NTFs will be something important in the future, but need more develop.
For example, integrate NFTs in the metaverse could be amazing.
So that's my opinion. A Good Idea that could be something important in the future

I find it funny how people still don't release the scam behind the NFTs.. it took me 1 min when I learn about NFT which was with the first Twitter post of the Twitter creator.. good for ML tho.. :)

There will always be idiots that praise their digital monkees and claim they hold any kind of value whatsoever
The only money to be made on NFTs AT THE MOMENT (maybe they'll find a real use for them) is to sell them to idiots.

NFT for the sake of artwork is stupid - but the underlying technology of being able to track the genesis and ownership is invaluable.

Imagine that every great artwork has an NFT associated with it - when it gets sold, the token is transferred but there's a log of who was the last owner of that artwork, so you know it's real and not a knock-off. Also the original creator (the artist) gets a % of revenue each time it's sold, so as it appreciates in value they make a commission.

Now apply it to real estate, where the builder creates an NFT that gets passed along in the sale of each home - not only is the developer able to make a residual each time it's flipped, there's greater transparency on who owns the home.

Do the same thing for rentals, and you can minimize rental fraud - so it's difficult for someone to rent out a place they don't actually own.

There's a lot of potential - it's just unrealized at this point - but it applies more to the blockchain than NFT specifically.

I believe the main issue with NFTs is that they're not very valuable if they're just bought for the sake of value. Most people speculate on them, believing that they'll be worth more at some point... for no reason at all.

Now a few NFTs projects actually focus more on the use than on the artwork. Musicians, for example, can sell NFTs promising a share of revenue of the sales of a certain song. In that way, this would mean that people could invest in artists (musicians in this case) in the same way they invest in stocks.

Imagine discovering Justin Bieber when he was singing on the streets? Say he had released an NFT at the time, saying that the owner of the NFT would get a %age of the revenue generated from his "baby, baby" song... that would've gotten you rich. I think this could be something big in the future.

so i buy an nft just to experience it, i buy this $30 image. the creator is the biggest exchange in the world. i though well that must be worth something right?

now i have nft worth $30 that nobody want to buy it from me, even if i lower the price to $20, i learn my lesson :D

Why would anything like this need to be an NFT?

Why can't it be a normal contract? Isn't that more efficient?

It seems like people who promote NFTs stretch for any possible reason to use an NFT even though existing technology already exists and is more confidential and professional.

The video makes a great point about contracts - everyone on BlackHatWorld is obsessed with anonymity but yet they're enthralled with a technology that completely eliminates anonymity and makes every transaction fully transparent and viewable.

So, in simple terms NFTs are all non-sense tokens?

I'm not going to even watch the video. I don't need to rebut anything. If you don't understand NFT technology, that's OK. If you don't understand why people are paying millions to support the Ethereum network, that's OK. It doesn't bother me at all. Laszlo Hanyecz once paid 10,000 BTC for 2 Pizzas. You didn't understand it then, I didn't understand it then, but look where we are today.

Copyright laws still apply.

Good luck with the right clicking ;)

I think they are a get rich quick scheme with no value behind it, like ponzi scheme but no real long term utility... let's see if I am wrong(maybe).

For the moment, the only people I hear talk about nft in real life are broke people and crazy people.

i just checked, and the floors of well-known NFTs are still there. what did this video destroy exactly?
i will never understand the right click argument. sure, you can save the image. can you also sell it for 20 ETH or whatever? no? then what are you so smug about?
