Ever notice how people texting at night have that eerie blue glow?

Or wake up ready to write down the Next Great Idea, and get blinded by your computer screen?

During the day, computer screens look good?they're designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn't be looking at the sun.

    f.lux

F.lux fixes this: it makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.

It's even possible that you're staying up too late because of your computer. You could use f.lux because it makes you sleep better, or you could just use it just because it makes your computer look better.

Here is the site where to DL link is.

Yeap, I've been using Flux for quite some time already.
It really helps my eyes... never experience an eyestrain for months (lol).

Best of all, it is free!

I tried flux over a year ago but it sucks if you have to do graphics work. I found a much better alternative is to pick up a set of Gunnar glasses. I got a pair 2 months ago and WOW, I wish I would have gotten them 2 years ago. They are worth every penny they cost. I don't work on a computer without them now.

Here is another great free software that does the same: it dims your monitor. I found it easier to use than flux, as you can switch it on/off whenever you like - while flux uses the daylight cycle. http://www.pangobright.com/

How much did they cost? Any reviews on which ones are the best? Its a bit off Topic, but it seems it can be good for me too.

    Cheers

I've had this for two weeks. Personally I haven't really noticed much difference in terms of screen color but I have noticed that now if I turn it back to how it normally was before flux my eyes start to hurt.

It does feel nicer on your eyes though.

The cheapest one is about $79.99 from gunnars, they even have ones that replace your Rx glasses. But idk the price of those, I think you have to find a local provider to get a quote.

I picked up my Gunnars at Best Buy for $59.95

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gunnar+Eyewear+-+Gunnar+Gaming+Eyewear+%26%23151%3B+PPK+Onyx/Mercury+Frame/1223916.p?skuId=1223916&id=1218238309586

(not an affiliate link- they were cheaper in the store)

I can't work on a computer now without them. At first I thought the yellow tint would bother me but after wearing them a couple months - they are frickin awesome. Now I take them off and the screens look dark and hard to read.

They have a slight magnification to them so text and graphics just pop off the screen. Best thing is if you pick them up at Best Buy and don't like them you got 30 days to return. Try them out and I bet you'll love these. I could tell the reduced eye strain on the first day. Typically by late at night my eyes are gone. Can't focus and everything is a blur. Now I can work 24.7 if I want.

OK enough hype - try them out and see for yourself. I just love mine.

    eBayer!
I have been a flux user for quite some time now and it's good.

I have been researching into curing poor eye sight for quite some time now, I have got together a list of products which i'd like to buy. I have read some books which state that bad eye sight can be cured using eye-exercises which is still used in schools in China. Other than that, I have stumbled across some products on eBay and have added them to watch list.

In some books I have read, the pilots used eye-exercises to great effect, as I am not time-rich, i have looked into some alternatives.

If anyone has ever used any of these products please tell me your intake on these: (thanks )

I am not advertising any of these links, these are just links that I have book marked which claim to cure eye-sight.

I have visited China and I was surprised to see hardly anyone with eye-glasses there even though they had their eyes glued to laptops on their shop desks. There has to be something right they are doing..Or something we/I am missing.

    thanks!

Never tried these but a friend of mine said they worked. I asked to borrow them but he couldn't find them or didn't want to lend them probably.

This has excellent ingredients. Not a good idea to take something you ingest from company without longstanding rep. Check out these guys instead. Their quality and rep is top flight and their prices are sick! http://www.swansonvitamins.com/
