Anyone who uses the phrase "not up for discussion" immediately loses my attention. It shows a lack of respect for others for a start.
While I agree with your sentiments for the most part (hey - I'm still number 1 in 60% of the western world for the phrase "link disavowal tool" - so you can bet your ass I've had gazzillions of comments and more emails than can even open never mind read and reply to) the fact is it IS UP FOR DISCUSSION.
More than that it HAS TO BE DISCUSSED.
Maybe it's just your phraseology - I'm replying at all becasue I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. But in general anyone who pronounces on a new topic and says stuff like "case closed" or "not for discussion" doesn't get a lot of time or respect in future from me.
But I agree with your sentiments. Google are inches away from the one BIG anti trust that will scupper them, and they seem unaware of it. Let them stumble on - but avoiding the LDT if at all possible is pretty sound advice for many reasons.
