This might be a stupid question but...[AM]

So I've tried my hand at a few things.
I tried to do Shopify because I was sold on the idea of just arbitrage Ali-express stuff and BAM you'll get money easily (I was naive) and then I tried my hand at making my own self-improvement site thing but I lost interest in that because I was slowly going "This might be a stupid idea."

But I bought 3 years of hosting and I have 2 years left so I want to do something with that even if I fail it'll be no more lost than I already am at ya know?

Well, I want to try my hand at Affiliate Marketing but I'm wondering can it really do anything? I have a niche idea and believe I can combine it with the youtube slide show idea stuff and just make videos and lead to my real webpage and blah blah

What I'm wondering is how does AM actually work because what's stopping someone from just going "Oh I want a dehydrator" and not just typing that straight in amazon or eBay or wherever search bar directly?

I know if I want something I just go to amazon type it in and read some reviews and done so I'm wondering how does AM work?

I know there's no way my page could out beat amazon or eBay on the front page of google so what is the best way to go about it or if the niche needs to be so specific and maybe a little obscure that that is what I should go for?

I'm willing to commit hours a day on the project and do the Quora, Pintrest, Redditt, Facebook, "spam" things with everything I just want to get a better direction.

Be little patient, read methods shared here and give them some time. AM will take time.

Seo tools will give you the answer: people search on Google things like "best (product) for (use).

You don't need to "beat" Amazon, It will always beat anyone else, but people do not click on it if they're searching something specific (top 3... best product between x and y... etc)

Ah ok I think I understand instead of just doing an item of something I should compare 5-10 .
I'm going a bit different than a blog site with the AM products but now I'm getting a little bit more understanding of how I want to go about it. Thank you.
