My blog has a "recent news" section on my home page, that pulls in a snippet of the latest post.
Each time I write a new post, I go and ping it via pingler.
What I do is ping the index page, and the RSS feed page.
Now, when I go to Google and go to the web options, Past 24 Hours, Sorted by date. I see that my index page has been indexed again, and also the latest post. So I have two spots showing.
Now in Google, I have at the side of my URL the time it was last updated.
On my other blogs that I dont use a "recent news" section on the home page, I dont get this result.
Anyway, thought Id share that. Maybe of some use
