This is why you shouldn't rely on one traffic source.

Prior to last week, I had about 1 month of a steady earning of $20 a day and my traffic had been rising from 1k uniques a day to 2.5k uniques a day and the sky was the limit from then on.Then last thursday I had the best earning day I have ever had and hit $65 in one day.

I was on mid-bottom page 1 for many keywords (about 8) and then rank 2-3 for a few (3-5) aswell.

It was one of the best days of my life hitting $65 in one day, because I set a goal about 7 months ago to hit $50 a day in my online marketing efforts. It was a great feeling later that night when I slept confident that tomorrow I will have even more traffic and make an estimated $100 in that day.


Then I woke up.

Reality finally set in that if you abuse Google with xrumer blasts, scrapebox blasts, you will get the consequences and be slapped.

The next day I woke up and for every keyword that I previously had been ranked on page 1, I was know on page 8-10... for every keyword.

This dramatically hurt my earnings and was a realization that being reliant on one traffic source will hurt you. I was reliant on google as my main traffic source and as soon as my site got slapped back a few pages I started making nothing from this site.


So what did I do wrong?


The days prior to the blast I did several xrumer blast and scrapebox blast to my site. I did a slightly heavier one than I normally do so this had some effect i'm sure.



So what did I do now?


From what I have read, the best situation would be for me to keep building backlinks high-pr ones, and be patient... I have read that it should take 3 days up to a month to get out of the google dance/slap.

What you should consider is that sometimes certain websites can only be efficently monetized using a certain traffic source. ie Your not going to pay for PPC traffic for an adsense website.

Congratulations on earning 65$ in a single day by the way, I hope to make that much soon. What kind of website was it, affiliate, adsense or CPA?

Very true.

I just meant it's better/more efficent to use two traffic sources in case one fails...

IE: youtube + seo, facebook + twitter.

All could crashing down in one second, so it's better to have 2. I learned this.



It was a content blocker with a cpa offer type of site.

I'm not sure if the xrumer and sb blast was the problem.

Same thing happened to one of my blog two weeks ago. I build back link manually for this blog, web2, forum profile, high pr comment etc.

Still figure it out what exactly the probelms, since this blog has unique content and no blackhat method involved.

Diversify you backlinks. Do some social bookmarking, build authority backlinks and add new content. You'll be back soon.

I'd say it's just the dance, most likely you will be back soon.

This is why I am always a little vary of Xrumer/SB blasts on my money sites.

by the look of things you are just in google dance should come out in no time in the meanwhile start focusing a second traffic source may i ask what type of site you had? for example tv show/voucher ect ect

Notice that the Panda update on Google still seems to have various kind of effects up to now. Many people using many different back linking strategies report strange movements lately.

Give it time. Like has been mentioned it may just be temporary. Different data centers have different indexes and you may find it rectifies itself soon.

How many pages are indexed by Google? Does Big G deindex?
