It talks on how UI/UX may be affecting SEO.

Very controversial in the SEO world but with the release of Google's recent UI/UX playbooks and various patents, something I think is worth paying attention to.

Thanks, good read and some nice practical info in there.

I wouldn't go as far to say it's the new SEO though because what good is a perfect UX if nobody can find your site. But I guess that's the whole point of the UX = SEO argument.

On the other hand what good is lots of traffic but no conversion because of bad UX and design. This topic always reminds me of the old women cliche, you can't live with them but you can't live without them either. There has to be a fine tuned balance.

That is actually a very interesting point. If the site looks like an it hasn't been updated since the 90's but contains valuable information or some product/service that you really want (given it's trustworthy), would you leave just because of the design? I guess it also depends a lot on what is being offered and what you are looking for.

Although this would be more of an exception than a rule.
