Hey, I thought that it could be educational to us, noobs, of BHW.

I was reading a lot and decided to try to make a website on all I have learned on BHW - www.weddingplanningbooksguide.com and I went for a keyword "wedding planning books" (I know it is not a very good kw but I made it for learning resons, not to make some cash).

I wrote some articles, made about 60-70 backlinks in articles, profiles, blogs, blog comments (some of them are .edu/.gov), installed "All in One SEO Pack", "SEOPressor UNLIMITED", "SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2" and other useful plugins.

The problem is for the kw "wedding planning books" which I was ranking for I rank only at
470 with http://www.weddingplanningbooksguide.com/tag/wdding-planning-books/ ... my original ...com/ is nowhere to be seen. What I did wrong? I know that 60-70 backlinks are not enough but 470th place...common? It`ve been about 3 weeks since I started making backlinks.

I hope to hear some criticism and comments. Thanks.

Well, how many backlinks does the competition have? Plus, it has only been 3 weeks, how old are your sites?

I would guess you are hit with a keyword stuffing penalty for those tags. Reduce you on page keywords to 10% and go to G()()gle webmaster tools and apply for site reconsdieration.

Yeah, that would be my guess too. Remove 1million tags IMO.

The tags really "uglifly" the posts and make the site look spammy

Ya, I'd say the tag thing too. Also, you only have 6 backlinks in Bing from what I can see, none in Google or Yahoo.

donnybluejeans, how did you check it? Also, I don`t know why there are only 20 shown in Market Samurai because I always ping them with pingomatic/scrapebox ping device/pingdevice.... any help with that?

SEO toolbar for FF.

Another tip - tick the box in the options for SEOpressor that removes the link at the bottom of your homepage. Any links that you are pointing to your site are now going through your page boosting SEOpressors.

It is about one month old. So now I am thinking of reducing my backlinks quantity to about 10percent, removing seopressor in the footer.

I am really confused about my backlinks, I made about 60-70 of them and pinged them all but donnybluejeans said that FF plugin shows none. I don`t know what could be wrong...

Also I have a link to harvard.edu at my "about page" cause I read that it is useful to have your site linking to an authority site...should I remove it too?

Thanks for your useful tips and comments.

Yahoo is showing 19 I think. Just sayin.

Nice lookin' site.

Ya, the whois is showing 18 links from yahoo..so its not so bad. But still, just because you did all that doesn't guarantee you get a backlink from each one. A lot of the time it will take longer for those backlinks to show up so just keep plugging away and things will start to materialize.

Sorry but that is just not how you build a good site.SPAM is the keyword there, your keyword is EVERYWHERE and the blog links go to the home page. This is a lesson on how NOT to build a site.Start again and preferrably on a new domain,I'm not kidding you've probably screwed that one up.Silly thing is the site isn't even monetised so I see absolutely no reason why you're going into this niche.Google your term you have wikipedia and amazon on the first page.I'm not trying to be hard but I am being honest. It's reality check time. You never ping article because they are indexed almost immediately, write and article submit to ,say ,500 articles sites with same title (make it unique so you get my point) google the title, there ,you see all your indexed links. To ping these is basically telling google you're at it.You've done everything you should have avoided doing and google had no problem spotting you whatsoever.

Chalk that site down to experience, bin it and start again.Seriously that site is finished now.
Ok lets focus on how to start again.
Quit using bold\underlining the keyword.
Only mention the keyword twice in each post and make it near the beginning of the post.
Use a template for that kind of niche, the 2010 type theme is boring for a wedding themed blog.
Name your images as keywords
Build quality links to a new site, spam links only have any real effect on an aged domain that has decent links.
Don't expect a 1 month old domain to get anywhere near the 1st page unless there is zero competition.Wedding niche has alot of competition.

Look at the first page for your keyword if Amazon and wikipedia are both on it,you have your work cut out,but it would have to be a money site. Why would you waste so much time trying to rank for a niche like that for no reward it doesn't add up.
Anyway best of luck with the next one, maybe try whitehat first ,let the domain age a little then get into blackhat.

cloakndagger, thanks for a very useful comment, I really appreciate it.

Could you please comment more on that part that you said "and the blog links go to the home page"? You were talking about the backlinks I made on the other websites? And what do you mean by "quality" links? Unique/spinned articles, writing blogs? Is it enough to write few sentences in an entry and when put your link with the anchor text? Could you give me some examples of "quality backlinks"? And is it a good idea to build thousands of gacklinks to your web 2.0 profiles? Thank you.

I am happy cause I learned something very useful today, but I am also angry on myself that I spent days doing wrong moves with two of my sites, it is really confusing sometimes, for example I read that seopressor is a great tool and I did spam my keywords to my articles because the plugin said there should be much more of them. My other projects are on the same shared hosting - is it going to be a problem?

Can you quickly clarify if aging means domain age as in years old or in the age the site is present on the serps? I have seen terms used like domain incubation, domain ripening, etc all meaning different things to different people.

Thanks and I hope this does not count as jacking the OP

It is never easy you need to work hard to learn and you can only do that when you make mistakes. Everybody has different experiences since there lots of different variables. Personally I bold or italicize my keywords, as long as the density is low. I've had unique articles I have written submitted to decent directories lay unidexed for months, until I pinged them then they were indexed in a few hours.

Start by manually a bunch of writing articles before spinning anything. Learn what is a quality article directory and what is crap.

Hi.
First of all, I really appreciate your action and asking for tips.
In my opinion your website looks too spammy, in the first sight you can see the word wedding appears a lot of times...its really pollute the sight of a possible visitor, dont you agree? Write more naturally...you also keep repeating the keyphrase weeding planning books a lot of time...there is no need. Also, you don't need to bold every keyword...don't do that. One time per articles is enough.

About backlinks just keep building some everyday and results will appear.:)

Do this:

Disable search terms plugin for your site for now since your keyword is super easy to dominate.

Get 2 xrumer blasts directly for your site with the following 3 keywords for each blast:

1)Wedding Planning
2)Wedding Planning Books
3)Wedding Planning Checklist

Get the 2 xrumer blasts from these 2 services:

Code:
http://www.fiverr.com/users/seo_xrumer/gigs/make-7500-backlinks-using-xrumer?ref=glst-g-ttl

Code:
http://www.fiverr.com/users/portron/gigs/create-5250-verified-backlinks-using-xrumer?ref=glst-g-ttl

Add 2 more articles to your site, and schedule the 2nd one 4 days after the first one that you publish immediately.

This time don't underline or bold the keywords, and don't use "wedding planning books", simply target the keyword "wedding" by mentioning it 3-4 times, then the remainder of the 200-300 words article should not have anything else with the keywords in it.

Make sure you also have webmaster tools installed on your site along with Google Analytics.

Disable SEO Pressor.

You should see yourself ranking first page within 7-14 days.

Great advice there Bobbylove.

Can i ask, will this be effective if i send those blasts to articles on Ezine instead of my site directly?

cheers

Of course.

Since ezinearticles already has super authority, then you just need to have your article's title with the targeted keyword in it.

You should also mention your keywords about 4-7 times through out your ezine article, then blast away.

It depends on how competitive your keywords are, so for example, if you are targeting "car", then your not going to rank on the first page.
