This is weird

Hi guys,

I noticed something strange going on on google for one of my domains.

I bought an auction domain, blocked who.is and hosted it on godaddy. The site has a bit of content on it right now.

All posts on it are already indexed but google indexes another website for the home page.

So on google, the url for the homepage matches my domain, but the title and description does not. Clicking on the link send me to my website, but fetching the google cache show me the other site.

I also noticed that google indexes https version for the homepage ONLY. I have https diabled.

Google visits and indexes the website every two days so i am sure the index for the site is not stale.

Anyone else experienced this and how did you solve?

I do not want to add to WMT as i intend to use this as a PBN.

Please help

What did this domain do before you bought it? Was it a redirect before? For how long have you had that site? It could be the case that google still shows some of the old links before you got the domain. Check archives, maybe it could help.
Other possibility you have been hacked or there is some wrong/malicious code/link somewhere.

Domain was indexed properly when I bought it.

Archive does not show the other domain's content anywhere.

Not sure how to check if it was previously a redirect. Ahrefs says its not.

Hacked maybe, I will pull down the site, it is WordPress and put a simple page up to see if that tells me anything.

Faced a similar problem too in the past. There was a misconfiguration in the server of my hosting.
Try to open in your browser the IP associated with your site and probably you'll see the same page you see on the https if this is the same thing that happened to me.

yes, it did. The IP brings up the other site.

How did you solve this?

I am on a shared cpanel host on godaddy

Honestly I don't remember how I fixed... but I remember it was a misconfiguration... try to contact godaddy support

Sigh... troubleshooting is half the battle. Such is life.
