Microsoft is pretty big but they've been unable to challenge Google at search

If MSFT incorporates GPT into Bing, it's probably automatically the best search engine out there. All GPT needs is a decent front-ent and someone big backing it up.

We might be witnessing history once more.

I was there when Google killed Altavista. Seeing it happen again would be pretty cool.

But Microsoft has enough cash to fight a 20 year war with anyone. If they get the AI search part right, this is definitely a Google killer.

I have never seen chatgpt as a google competitor.. in best cases it can be a great content generator for some informational niches and that is it.

Judging by my experiences using Win/Outlook/MS365/Bing. A microsoft monopoly would probably be even worse than a Google one.
