This is a hoax and it's been doing the rounds for many months, trying to harm a company called BizScope.

I doubt if anyone falls for this stuff. May be amateurs believe in such emails and fall for the trap.

I actually get lots of such email. Funny thing is, this same guy asking for backlinks created sent to his client's website, would go to another webmaster and offer to sell him the best kinds of backlinks in the world.

As far as I know this is wrong. The company owner has shared his thoughts on social media a couple of times. Their opponents are doing it to damage their brand value.
