"Hey, listen up... There's this new virus going around -- the COVID-19 virus. It's serious stuff! Tell everyone you know to stop going outside."

"Yo, I'm telling you, him, her, her, him, and everyone else to NOT go outside. Stay indoors. Tell everyone to do the same. This is serious. I heard it from a guy. I trust this guy. He's smart. He knows things. One of those intellectuals."

"Whatever, dude."

"Babe, there's a virus going around. I think it's serious. You should tell one of your nerdy friends that uses the internet all the time, so that they can really get the word out."
giphy.webp

"Hello, World! The sky is falling! The virus is everywhere! Please everyone, stay at home! Stay indoors. Stock up on Twinkies, canned food, water, toilet paper, and pi! Ha! See what I did there! Yes, it was a joke but I'm very serious! The sky is falling!!!"
giphy.webp

"Virus? Oh, puh-leeze... I'm going out and you can tell that virus to talk to the hand!"
giphy.webp

"There's always a new virus. It's all just political mumbo jumbo. There's SARS, Bird Flu, Swine Flu, Ebola, Corona, yadda, yadda, yadda. Let me guess... In another few years, we'll have a Budweiser Virus or a Pikachu Virus. I'm so over it."
giphy.webp

"Wow, are people really this stupid?"
giphy.webp

"We're not stupid. We're just not all that smart. It's a hoax. Let's just get around as many people as we possibly can and just have fun!"
giphy.webp

"Wow. They really are that dumb."
giphy.webp

...meanwhile, as news continues to spread, people seem to not be able to stop doing this...
giphy.webp

...and this...
giphy.webp

...and this...
giphy.webp

...and this...
giphy.webp

It's like people are trying their hardest to have the world looking like this...
giphy.webp

Hopefully one day, people will learn to do this...
giphy.webp

But I do understand... People have lives to live and places to go, which is why this will continue to spread until there's a vaccine. You can't completely stay at home if you have a job to report to. The bills need to be paid. It would be far too much to ask of too many people for everyone to just sit tight for a month or two. Such an 'ask' would be devastating to so many people, so here we are. Living through it as best we can.

Cringe level on this post is above the clouds, i cant.

Because of peoples' response to this pandemic (as depicted above), we're about to be forced into a lockdown. I just hope that if / when there's a vaccination available, that it doesn't go horribly wrong like that one cure did in "I Am Legend".

One thing I think a lot of people are overlooking, is with regards to grocery stores.

Here are some examples:

Ex.A: Timmy is infected and carrying the virus, but is asymptomatic and appears healthy enough. After he finishes shopping, he heads to the cashier. He pays with his wife's card because she offered to buy if he's the one who flies ('I buy, you fly'). For a moment, he forgot it wasn't his card (they use the same bank and have the same default design on their cards). He enters his PIN, cancels, then enters her PIN (eight completely different buttons, as well as the CANCEL and ACCEPT buttons are now all contaminated. Timmy completes his transaction and leaves. The next person pays with cash. The person after that is you, and you're paying with your debit card.

Ex.B: Timmy is infected and carrying the virus, but is asymptomatic and appears healthy enough. Timmy wants to stock up on rice and grabs the first package he sees. Just as he's about to place it in his cart, he notices there's one more of his favorite brand of rice. He feels as if he just hit the jackpot. He grabs the rice, neatly (or not) places the other brand of rice back on the shelf where he found it, and goes on about his day. Five minutes later, you're double-checking your grocery list and almost forgot that your wife wanted to cook jambalaya for dinner and you're only missing the rice. I'm sure you know how the rest of this story goes.

Ex.C: Timmy is infected and carrying the virus, but is asymptomatic and appears healthy enough. Michael, who has allergies, sneezes. You immediately hold your breath, turn, and power-walk the other way, so as to be as far away from that sneeze as possible. In haste, you bump into Timmy, say "excuse me", finish shopping, and then go home to infect your family.

Simply put, I can probably sit here and think of hundreds of other scenarios. I'm just warning you guys and gals about some seemingly innocent mistakes that can happen and as a result, have devastating consequences for you, your family, and countless others. Do everyone a favor the next time you go shopping -- wear gloves.

I hate it when people cough.
If you knew you were going to be coughing, you should have stayed your ass at home!
