The idea of leveraging labor, working smart and enjoying your life as much as possible? This book did a lot to benefit me. And on his blog he even explains the testing that went it to designing the perfect linkbait cover for the book.

Speaking engagements aren't impossible to find if you offer to do them for free and actively search for them.

I would like to know more about your process in finding the engagements, though. :p
 
Do you feel you will be able to earn the $7,000 and actually provide him with enough useful advice and information to truly make it worth it to them? I would have some issues with taking that much, as I really don't see how you can provide $7,000 worth of consulting unless its for a long term monitoring job or for multiple sites.

100% True man! even newbies who don't know much about SEO basics they starts their own service for others i mean wtf they will lead your website to nowhere in the end..

Who are you to say what $7,000 is worth to him? Or me? Or anyone? Everyone puts a different value on the things that they buy. If the same job can be done for much less then it is their responsibility to seek out the market and find the best price.

If you want to build a brand based on customer appreciation and honesty, then you find a more reasonable price. If you want to have a repeat customer, then you find a more reasonable price. Otherwise... who is to say clipping his toenails isn't worth $7,000 to the other guy? :D

Some people are simply not good at monetizing, or don't have money to live off of to spend their own time and effort SEOing their own websites. There are lots of guys who rank sites highly just for some adsense income and don't even know about optimizing their adsense adblocks for higher CTR and higher PPC. It isn't always the guy ranked #1 making the most money. If you have a high quality website, sometimes all you need is a scrapebox or senuke blast to get Googles attention and a bit of PR flowing through your pages, and then natural growth can take over from there. So while the person who does the seo may not truly understand why they are doing it, it doesn't mean their work wont benefit your site.

The guy already has a bad taste in his mouth from the previous providers who have seemingly wasted his money, so obviously he doesn't feel that the work he has already paid for was worth the money spent. I never said I know what $7,000 is worth to the provider or the client, I asked the provider if he personally feels he will be providing information worth the amount spent. I then told him that I do not feel he would be able to provide $7,000 worth, that is my opinion. I am able to provide that opinion based on the feedback he received regarding the previous work done.

He mentioned that he invested 10's of thousands on SEO in the last couple months, with no results.

So my question is, does he truly feel that he will be able to earn the money. You may consider it the clients responsibility to know the exact value of what they are purchasing, but in consulting, that is simply not possible. How can I put a price on what the OP will do without knowing what he is going to do in great detail? How can I tell the client if their will be a cheaper option, without knowing exactly what the competitor will do?

Obviously the OP valued himself and his services at $7,000 for this client, and I want to know if he truly believes he is worth it, or if he just took advantage of a guy with a lot of money. And if he truly values himself at that price, how is coming to that price point?
 
I'd be interested to know that as well, do you feel what you are providing is worth $7K? Not bust'n your balls or anything, just want to know.

Kind of ironic that the guy said this, then proceeded to hire the OP for a measly $7k...
 
Consulting is MAssive Money no doubt, I am not sure about your claims but I do know that Guys with money or Corporations are willing to pay BIG BUCKS for what they need.
 
So, you charged 7K for giving a look to what his SEO guys are doing? or the amount is for bringing high traffic to his site?

Anyway, hell of a work u did and Congrats!!! :)

I usually don't put people on blast like this, but I've had enough of the OP. Just about every single post he makes is in someway saying, "hey, visit my site" and/or bragging about how much he makes (which I really doubt he does).
