hi friend , yesterday i changed my website from Joomla to Wordpress , and today i lost all my rank !!! all now not in top 100 .

this is Google Penalties or this is for that i changed my website from joomla to wordpress ?

Google doesn't penalize you for switching from Joomla to WP.
What they may have penalized you for is the resulting drastic decrease in the quality of your on-page SEO.

Make sure you get that all sorted out. Make it equivalent with how you optimized your Joomla layout.
 
so if this is gogle penalize , why just when i changed my system from joomla to wordpress ? :( when i didnt got penalized before it ?

should i back to joomla ?

I think 'penalty' is to harsh. I think it's just a result of your on-page getting completely scrambled/nulled.
Optimize it for WP and I don't see why your rankings wouldn't regenerate.

Though I'm admittedly not the most qualified on the subject - keep your mind open to other suggestions.
 
have you done on page SEO on wordpress as same you done on joomla ?
 
This is no penalty,you have changed your layout of your website and now everything is screwd up.
Changing from wp to joomla is a huge change and your urls has probably been changed.

A example:
Your wp website had a url like this yourdomain.com/yourkeyword
Your joomla may make a url like this youdomain.com/category/yourkeyword
Changing from from wp to joomla is a huge change and is going to make you loose traffic,if you want your traffic back you can revert back to wp.
If you want to stay with joomla then you need to wait some time to let google rei-ndex your new urls,but that being said you might not get your traffic back.
Doing changes to your website is very risky when you have good traffic.
 
Hopefully you created a backup of your old wordpress site before you made the switch?

I'd revert back asap and then do the whole switch again, but properly this time. Im sure there are extensions for Joomla that allow you to change your url structure. If not then you need to note all of your old urls (Spearedsheets are good for this) and setup 301 redirects to your new urls on your new site. This helps bots find the new pages quickly and easily and should make the transition smooth.

If your screwed and dont have backup of your old site and its urls, the way back when machine might help you find your old urls OR your hosting provider might be able to help with a roll back to a few days ago?

Also the point about on page SEO is completely valid too.

Transferring / updating websites can be a complicated process, certainly with larger sites and you should first make a list of all the key things which need to be addressed. Then switch onto a test domain first to ensure you addresses everything and ONLY THEN onto your new domain.

My guess is that the change which of course has effect on the structure brought about issues with onpage SEO. My advice: Do some Onpage SEO. \Work on uls, descriptions, etc.
Consider also using AIO SEO
 
thanks for all , i changed my website from JOOMLA to WORDPRESS , and now i am using YOAST for seo . can i use all in one seo pack inside it ?

you think back to my joomla site or wait for index my new website ?

Have you remembered under "settings" and "reading" to set Wordpress to allow search engines to index the site rather than the default "discourage search engines"?
 
No worries, when there is a big change in the whole code of your website , the first thing googleis gonna do is makeyou lose some ranks,this can happen even if you change your theme. your rankings will come back, in like 2 or 3 weeks in the worst case ,3 to 4 days for the best one.
 
Your website is now fundamentally different and may need re-indexing.
Did you keep the exact same canonical structure? What about the same content? Is your home page the same? Did you have Joomla specific onsite SEO optimizations running that aren't yet triggered in your wordpress set up?

When you make really drastic changes to a site it can take Google a few days, even a week or two - to get used to the idea and rank you correctly.

And changing from Joomla to Wordpress IS a drastic change.

Dear , canonical structure and post's urls are not same between joomla and wordpress , my posts urls now are different . but content's are same .

i think i should now wait for re-index my website structure by google .
 
may be some issue with indexing etc... as Google didnt index at that point in time. So I think wait for a week or two and then see. Dont think so any penalty.
 
Google has an old adage "URLs must never change". If the Joomla installation changed all your urls to new ones, there's your problem. Give it 2 to 3 months to recover....
 
That should not a problem. What about the link structure.. is it the same? What about page titles?

link structure is not same and i changed my website title !!! its possible that problem is from it ?
 
You have changed your layout of your website and now everything is screwed up. Doing changes to your website is very risky. Have you optimized the onpage SEO in Joomla like you did in WP? You have to replicate everything in the new platform.... then wait for the results.
