So I was selling my old iPod on Craigslist and I get this email from a dude who wanted to buy it. His name... Frank Larry haha. Two first names, come on. I already knew it was a fraud, but hell why not go with it right? Here are the email responses... Frank: Hello, I was wondering if your product is still available? Me: Yep, still available I accept paypal or google checkout. Let me know if you are interested. Frank: Thanks for the prompt response, i'll like to make an instant purchase right away, i will send a draft via my bank to cover the cost as am satisfied with the item. I will need the details of whom & where to mail the draft. It will be delivered by the United Parcel Service within 2 days. Please note 'ups' do not deliver to P.O.Box addresses. The require detail needed are : Name to be on check, Address to deliver the draft and your phone number should in case i might have someone call you on my behave because i am deaf. Kindly delete the posting as am totally committed to buying from you to save me cost, above all, you don't need bother about the shipping i will have my mover come for the pick up as soon as you have get the payment. Me: You are deaf and you want an iPod? Hmm, seems a bit fishy doesn't it? Care to comment? Nothing from Frank since... go figure. Do these scammers just get dumber every day?
Damn that's funny Well is all about they send same message dozens of times daily so I suppose he hasn't realized this message will no fit the iPod thing ..
Maybe it's a gift. Tell him you'll take cash. Since he has a "mover" you can take payment directly from him.
Thats friggin hilarious....... BUT...maybe he just decided you were absolutely right, he didn't need an ipod after all and now you are out of a sale Good luck with your sale BTW.
Well I sold the iPod on eBay for 50 dollars more than I offered it on craigslist so it didn't really matter. But I thought it was funny haha.
I was going to read this thread and reply with killer witty commentary to own the thread, but instead I got someone else to type this for me because I am dead.
Lmfao.. What did he need? A whole fuckin moving company for your ipod? Call in the brigades! We got an ipod here........... You should have toyed with him smitty
Well, I did egg him on a bit. Sure it wasn't as good as when I told some "wholesale" scammer I reported his IP to the FBI and he should get a phone call in the next few days. He then said in big letters, "FUCK YOU REPORT ME, I DIDN'T SELL YOU SHIT." I calmly said... "You just lost a client." Haha, I get a kick out of this stuff. I always tell the Nigerian scammers to send me a cash deposit before they send me the 10% of the 10,000,000,000,000 inheritance they supposedly need to transfer through me.
'Nigerian scammers' are boiler room operations filled with mostly teenage kids (I presume not actually organised by teenage kids) all emailing and posting the std. crap we all know and love (inheritance, money salvage, love scams, etc. etc.)?
