I am new to IM, new to BHW, new to it all.

I am trying to start a health related niche website. I have done my keyword research. I have a good idea and am ready to roll with it. I even have some content written and ready to go. I have been experimenting with free WP themes, but they all look so amateur. Am I missing something? Is WP not the way to go? I want a nice design. I don't really care for the blog post format. Also, I have little HTML/CSS/design experience. Why do my WP sites look so unprofessional?

All my prior reading led me to believe the quickest and most straightforward way to get a site up and running was to use WP. I have experimented with multiple free WP themes. Some of them adsense optimized, others just straightforward designs. Is this not the way to go?

    Can anyone offer some advice?

    Thank you in advance.

Low on funds at the moment. I think my problem is not not knowing how to utilize WP to its full potential. I have been piddling around with WP dashboard and trying to customize themes for a while. Basically, should I continue with WP or just scrape together a site from an html template?

Look at other sites that catch your eye and have a similar layout as to what you have in mind. Then check to see if they are using wordpress and if so what theme. Then go from there... either buy it or try to find a nulled version until you make some cash.

You do not have to use the blog post format with wordpress. There are tons of tutorials on youtube and other places that show you how to use WP to create a static site.

Hope you find what you need and good luck.
