Many people abandoned MySpace as a site to make money online.
Less people - less competition.
You can easily try different methods on MySpace. Starting with their Ad program rather than other saturated sites. (Adwords,Facebook Ads..)

I try to do it, thanks. May be the reason why many abandoned is low traffic 'quality'?
 
is it even worth trying? mainly underground bands use myspace now
 
i donno guys they might be sealing thier dfate by making everyone start over, maybe if they get enough complains they will change the decision and allow you to import old connections

I think I must be the only person who DOESNT know Myspace has an ad program. Wow. Maybe getting a music page and finding legitimate followers might be the way forward for me?
 
How many people are still using myspace now ? is it possible to get good traffic ?
 
nobody, nobody at all. whoever said 'underground bands still use it' is wrong, something much bigger took over. not facebook.
 
There isn't much competition, but there aren't many people to market to either. The network is dead pretty much, and even when it was popular it wasn't that good for marketing uses. It's hard to reach out to the right people and find people in your niche, unlike Facebook.

I did some quick research on Myspace right now. Supposedly, Myspace has been rising in popularity over the past 2 months. It went from 4.5 million to 15 million unique visits over the course of 2 months, with 36 million 'active' accounts total. 14.2 million of these users are amateur musicians in high school and the rest are ephebophiles, so unless you have something that appeals to bad musicians or lecherous sexagenarians, then I wouldn't waste my time.

I'm still not so sure about Google+. while it has nice features such as placing friends in circles, the only reason there are so many Google+ accounts right now is because whenever you sign up for one Google service, you automatically have a Google+ account. For example, I signed up for a YouTube channel a few months ago to advertise a product. When I changed the picture of the channel, I noticed that it mentioned something about Google+. Well, it turns out that any of my actions on other Google services are usually posted on Google+, making my accounts look more active than they are.
