Just taking a break from work. I've been trying to make income from IM but the most I could get so far is $150/month.

I am a businessman offline and have retired from the workforce as a result of building my business. I thought I would foray into online stuff because obviously that's where the future is. But goddamnit it tough!

much respect to you who have made a living online for as long as you have. This IM thing is weird, addictive in a way.. The more i fail at it, the more committed i feel to make it work! It's like playing one of those puzzle games where the harder it gets the more you love it.

This thread is a promise to myself that i will keep grinding until i make good money out of IM. I'm now learning SEO.

Again, kudos to all you senior IMers who've made it. I have much more appreciation now for what you had to go through to get to where you are!

It is not easy of course, I lose my motivation very often. Especially if I am in depression then IM is one of the most difficult jobs for me. IM hates depression, depression hates IM.

Love your attitude of not giving up mate !!

Good for you OP - keep at it!

At the risk of being cliche, I truly think 'it's what you make it'.

I take the same approach to IM as I do in offline 'real' businesses - that is, something that's not mainstream is going to pay me better than being 'just another guy'... if you think along those lines, it doesn't take too long to start stacking up the revenue :)

Thanks for the support guys. My specialty is in sales in the offline world. I even managed to get a businessman friend of mine to give me money to do his seo. But since i cant even rank my own sites i felt bad about taking the cash and decided to get good at it first.

looking forward to learn more from you guys.

and tony_d, my man, thanks for dropping by to show support. You have no clue how much it means to me. I follow your posts a lot and do my best to apply your advice.

The golden rule in IM is never give up whatever its. Try nd Try nd Try till u reach da apex!!!

It does seem hard lately, so many failures and successes seem to last less and less

Its hard because there's no specific strategy in IM. Something works for me may not work for you. Copy paste other's method wont work in IM, you must have your own twist to the method. I'm also failing continously but it helps me in improving strategies, correcting mistakes. BHW really great place, has vast amount of knowledge, it was unique from other forums because members here are ready to help others. I liked your idea of not giving up. Take a pause, reinvent your starategies, start over. Best of luck.

I think there are two sides to IM. On the one side, it's hard work and you really have to LIVE online marketing before you can get successful. It takes smart ideas AND hard work.

But on the other side, the required resources are so low compared to the possibilities, that I honestly think it's simply the best way to go. If you provide geniune value, your idea can explode exponentially without you having to directly "grow" with it (You don't need 10 more stuff just because you're getting more visitors, as an example). As far as I know, the companies that make the highest profit per worker are all doing IM (not 100% sure tho).

warm regards,
