This Google Update is by far the weirdest ever.

I was not sure until I see this kind of movements, they basically restart completely their search engine.

I believe they restart it from the roots, it's impossible to dive from position 2 to +100 then in the featured snippet in less than 24h. I track it via 2 platforms, what you see in the picture is Ahrefs.

What do you think guys? I hate these weeks watching movements like I watch a world cup football final.

Same for me, they dropped 2000 keyword within a day and now I'm back where I was with 100's of keywords more.

I don’t know why but to me it feels like they’re some kind of split testing. Pitching different kinds of sites to see how they perform?

I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing exactly that - shuffling the SERPs just to make the webmasters switch to paid ads.
No SERP movement is going to make me spend ANY money on their unbalanced ads.

Their engineers are very bored, expect more weird unusual updates like these.

They are either utterly incompetent or it is by design. If it is the latter I know why they removed their old slogan...

Yes, That is what I am also thinking, no more investment until we are aware of what's exactly is going on with algo update. Maybe we can wait and observe this month and then take a step accordingly!!! I have also been stuck hard. Let's see what happens!!!

A few websites all my keywords now N/A

I think we should wait a few weeks.

Something massive going on 100%.

Now waiting for a few BST sellers adding 'Google may update 2020 proof!!!' To their titles. :D

A lot of my keywords fell several places and one of my competitors was shown a lot of love in the first few days of the update.
Since then, after a lot of dancing in SERPs, my keywords are either back to where they were or are higher than they were before the update, so far I've benefited from the update but that can obviously change in the coming days.

Well they always believe they have rhe right to screw peoples life, but since they’re facing competition from corona they decided to remind you’ll that they’ll screw your life’s anytime they wish

On one site total impressions and average position dropped (50% and 15 places respectively) while total clicks have been consistently higher than with double the impressions. Weird = understatement.

Feels a bit like quantum entanglement.. we know it happens but it defies the laws of known reality.

This is what most of these updates are, just a shuffle... John Mueller talks to the Google mouthpieces MOZ and searchengineland with some technical garbage and everybody is up in arms again and people who were making money from free traffic will buy ads to replace that free traffic (it is not really free pf course but for lack of a better word) Google has been doing it for years...

I would say you need to wait a few days till the end of the Google dance to make conclusions. It is a bit too much of a variation.

Indeed, I know, but this fluctuation isn`t normal, in the past was softer. Definitely it`s a 100% restart. I saw in more than 25 of sites I have tracked this kind of anomaly.

I love this forum to bits, but come on guys, it's a blackhat SEO forum.

You can't dabble in the dark arts then get upset when your site doesn't have longevity.

I don't do any BH SEO, I create great content that serves a purpose and helps the reader, and my rankings are absolutely fine. Some have increased significantly.

I don't say that to brag, just to illustrate my point.

It's not 2011 anymore. You actually need to provide value. Shitty affiliate ridden articles just won't cut it anymore.

I'm sure a few people will argue, saying "my site is completely Whitehat. I only have a few WEB 2.0's, some blog comments and a dozen PBN links" :D

Weirdly obtuse comment tbh - seems more like people are just discussing something is a strange event, not exactly bitching about it. The site I was talking about for example is 100% WH and it's still having a minor seizure right now.
