I love everything about that website, looks like real website developers, graphics designers, marketers and the rest gave that site a good go

Sounds about right honestly.

The site itself does not cost $90k.
The complete rebranding costs.

I have invoiced $9k for a rebranding (a few Figma files) for several businesses, and I’m not even that well known in the space.

The rebranding alone could easily cost $30k-ish. Another $30k for design work. $10k for site development. The rest from bits and bobs.

There's a stroooong sense of marketing in it too, I can't even get pages to hook up right and that whole website makes sense from content to design... :D

Pretty websites don't sell. "A marketing website is a complex thing to build on your own" is not a good hero. You should not be stating a problem as your first message. And if you do, AT LEAST write a solution statement below it. And where is the CTA? Wheres the button to sign up / get started / buy now / talk with us. When I visit this site, I don't know what or who they are. The above the fold content doesn't help me at all. Even after scrolling down I still dont really know. If you confuse, you lose.

You know I think designers like this but for me its distracting. If, usually people look to the left of the screen (esp in countries that read left to right) in this case I was focused solely on what was going on with movement on right and it wasn't because I knew what I clicked... IMO its always like that with movement on sites unless its subtle. Even sliders are distracting for me.
 
Was the total cost due to a lot of designing and deliberation along the way? While that sum of money could potentially be realistic, it sounds like a bloated price to me.

Edit: I just had a look at the other pages, and it looks like they kept this design language and even some motion graphics throughout, so it is beginning to make some more sense, but the website is still relatively simple without a Terms page, dedicated contact page, set plans, etc.
