Hi guys,

I've just set up a new campaign on the display network only. The ads were approved almost immediately and everything looks like it's ready to go.

The status of the ads shows as "Approved" but when I mouse over the little bubble it says:

"This ad is not eligible to run on the search network."

This has me confused as I am not even trying to have the ads appear on the search network at all!?

Your account is probably getting suspended once they manually review the ad.

Stupid question: is your minimum bid enough to show up on the content network?

Try to increase your budget, if no maybe that kind of banner or content of the banner is not allowed

"This ad is not eligible to run on the search network."

Since you said you are not targeting Search network, Why bother about this msg ?

Check your impressions after a day and see how it goes. Which targeting method you are using in Disaply ?

"It means your account will be suspended."

It does not directly mean the account will be suspended.

Most of the time guys who use duplicate accounts see this and next a suspension email from Adwords so they relate both together.

From my experience Running Adword accounts it often means your account is or going to under go a review because of either billing address issue or Site policy issue (Something which the guy who approved the ad missed but their algorithm found out later). So to break it down here is what happens -

1. You submit an ad for approval
2. Your Ad is analyzed by automated algorithms who check basic things (policies) like Display URL, Brand name violation, Adult classification and so on. If found issues its instantly reflected and your ad is disapproved.
3. On the next step it is passed to an Adwords rep. They have a lot to review in short time (I have seen them missing critical things as well in times) , They again check your ad , land on your site and if things are well they approve it. Till this time the duplicate account check , Fake billing address check or anything sneaky is not performed.

4. Meanwhile (It can be before or after the human review- depends on the time) their algorithm again check and scan your site/account for any issues it can find (Usually within 2-3 days). It does not auto disapprove your ad now because it's already human approved however it does puts your account in a review queue.

5. Depend on the issue it found, the msg you can see in the ad preview or in the popup box can vary. Sometime it clearly states your account is under review and sometimes this error.

6. The review team decides what to do with the account.

While I am not in anyway saying I know it inside out, it's just how i guess the process from my experience dealing with Adwords account on day to day basic. If interested I can tell more on it..

This is very ambiguous message. As wtgabc said this message does not necessarily mean that account is going to be suspended. I see this message when I have just started the campaign (sometimes Google can take several minutes to update the status). Though usually this message is shown due to budget issues.
