Okay so I've tried the blogging thing before and honestly it never worked for me because I never had a decent niche that I was really interested in to the point of being able to write content. Recently I picked up a new hobby for which there are plenty of retail sites for but not really any blogs or anything of that sort aside from one or two authority forums but that doesn't phase me with my plan. So far things completed are:

.Domain and hosting with an almost exact domain match

.Blog setup and About Us finished also first Blog post is done

.Setup a Twitter account and using a Chrome extention to follow 1000 people a day randomly as there aren't any accounts in my niche with over 1000 followers

.Also completed SEO optimization for my current pages and first blog post using SquirrlySEO

.Got all my analytics setup etc.

I'm just waiting to try and get the word out organically to the blog through twitter and to keep making atleast a post every day or two as to keep the blog alive. Eventually I may purchase an SEO package and ultimately drive traffic so Ad sense and affiliate link plugs can be inserted later on but I want to get the blog receiving organic traffic before I start all of the SEO packages and Ads with Affiliates etc. I'm actually trying to do things the correct way this time around. Wish me luck and I'll try to update this thread once a week to let you guuse know what's working and what isn't. As always, any tips are welcome.

Your niche is new or too old and outdated? I ask this because you need to think about this when you start something related to it, if is new is very good, if is outdated is not so good.

It's been around for a couple years but didn't get popular until recently.

Good luck, pal. I will certainly check this thread from time to time.
