Thinking of Starting an Affiliate Program- Advice Needed

So we've been basically doing all the marketing ourselves. I've never really tried anything with affiliate marketing before. Was hoping to get some guidance here.

I know there are quite a few networks. Which one should I go with? All of them or select ones? (CJ, Linkshare, Google, ShareAsale,etc)

What are some general rules I should put in place?
Our average order value is around $150-200 with about a 2% conversion rate on targeted traffic. What is a good commission that will attract affiliates?

What are some good places to recruit affiliates?

We are a manufacturer and make unique personalized gifts so we have little competition.
We drop-ship so I wanted to recruit some ebay/amazon sellers. Best place to find them?

I have launched a few affiliate campaigns for clients. It isn't easy. You have a lot of work ahead of you, so just be prepared for that.

I had my team scrape top people in our niche. From there, we created an personalized email talking about their blog/site and how through our affiliate program they can monetize their site. Once a dialogue was started, we worked with them to get them signed up and then the banners in place.

The hardest part was following up with people to make sure they get the links implemented on their site. People are lazy and will forget, so you need to stay on top of them.

hi
im an affiliate manager for big pharma manufacturer. over the years i have seen affiliate programs to deliver great results. theres a fair amount of intelligence required to work the channels effectively. including logistics and customer supports.
to answer your question, there are plenty of great affiliate program software now for wordpress or any other platform. u can pm me if ur looking for talent.

i have been working with rx affiliate program and they are great!
they pay on demand via wire transfer, EPESE and WebMoney, they cover all the sending fees, 14 day hold, min amount for wire is 500$, min amount for EPESE or WebMoney is 100$.

they work with both controlled and non-controlled products and pay 25% for all orders.

Amazon clickbank is best

My opinion if you're starting out is to work with the CPA networks first like maxbounty, f5media, mundomedia, etc. They work on a CPA basis as well so you don't need to front cash like you would have to with clickbank, cj, shareasale, etc. If you offer their affiliate managers good incentives and you have a good offer, you can really get some serious sales.

They prefer working with PPL offers so it's best if you have a good conversion funnel. If you're mostly rx, mpire is another network you could look at.
