Thinking of moving from UK to US...

Hi ya'll,

I'm thinking of moving from the UK to somewhere in the US (I'm thinking somewhere in Texas).

I wanted to ask if anyone's managed to move from the UK to the US successfully and could give me some advice.

Also if anyone's living in Texas, I wanted to ask how it's like over there.

If anyone's living somewhere else besides Texas in the US, it would be great if you could advice me on some other States.

Why Texas lol? I think that'd give you culture shock if you're somewhere like London.
 
I'm in Los Angeles and don't know if I'd move to Texas. You should do as much research about it as you can. I used to live Louisiana, did a short stint in Texas then moved to California and never looked back.

You can find just about anything in California at any time of the day or night. But I'm not trying to convince you, you should look at the economy of places you're interested in. Also research the activities you're most interested in.

I wish I could give better advice but without knowing more about what you want it's a little difficult.
 
The Northeast is foreigner friendly if you don't mind dreadful winters.

The richest people in the US live in CT. Texas is 14th on the list.
 
The west coast is by far the most friendly to European immigrants. If you want a sunny hot place to live (I assume that's why you picked Texas) look into living in Atlanta. It's also a big melting pot and business is good.
 
If given a chance, between living in London or NY, I wouldn't be able to make a correct choice. I've lived in both in an IDEAL condition too! I was living in London and getting a US salary! And i was able to travel between both cities, and also to my home in India at will! THOSE were the DAYS of my life! I've told my son (a very capable SW engineer) to go to the US and my daughter (she will become a telecom engineer next year) to settle down in the UK, ofc if they wish to. I can then have the best of both lovely worlds then!:)

I wondered what happened to KT1990.

I started to see him quoted in threads but there was no trace of his original posts or profile - wiped from existence.

I thought it was some sort of glitch.
 
I've travelled from Pakistan to America since 6 month ago. My cousin brother helped me to visit some area. I love New York, it's beautiful place :) I'll prefer to visit this place. Only go there with legit way :)

Yes, pretty sure its KT1990 second account, too many similarities like same place, hating foreigners, aspiring actors, annoying, but he just changed his gender lol
