I am thinking of using Rankpop.com for my SEO. Just wondering If anyone here has worked with them before and are they a good company to work with? Thank you In advance for any help or feedback.

  • "Guaranteed results"
  • Flat rate without consultation
  • Work without pay
No.

Care to elaborate a bit on that please?

The biggest red flag is the flat rate. Without even knowing your keywords, they are telling you they will work (maybe even for months) without pay, and then you will pay $450. Your keywords may not be worth $450, or they may be worth 5 times that.

They are giving you a price and "guaranteed results" without even sitting down with you to develop a strategy and go over what they will do for your site.

Plus they work without being paid. Despite it seeming like a great idea to customers, if they had confidence in their work, they would accept monthly pay based on a personalized strategy that they think will work best for you.

I actually had a meeting with them yesterday and a follow up in a few minutes today to go over which keywords i should go with. I thought the idea of them not getting paid unless they show results is a good thing? Also, there is no contract either so If i don't like their services I can opt out at anytime and most SEO companies can't even be reached by phone now and days so this was another plus. I am still hesitant don't get me wrong because you never know thats why I am asking.

Is there anyone else here that has heard of this company or used them? The Initial $450. covers 10 keywords and when discussing with them what I had In mind they said I would need to keep all keywords under one silo.

Say for Instance say my keyword is "Coffee Mugs" they said this would be the main keyword and all other would work off that. For example, funny coffee mugs, novelty coffee mugs, etc. My only thing is what If i wanted "Coffee Cups" too? They say this wouldn't fit within my "silo". Can anyone tell me is this makes sense? Thank you In advance.

These are just my opinions, so it's understandable if you disagree, but Rankpop's business practices are much different from mine and many other SEO companies I correspond with.

I see you said initial $450. Does this imply there are future payments? Their website makes it seem like it's a one-time $450.

Anyway, 10 keywords for $450 would blow most SEO's minds. You add up 10 small keywords and it becomes a relatively big task. MAYBE 3 low competition keywords for $450 per MONTH but not 10 one-time (unless they also do monthlies).

It's just that the time needed for 10 keywords, if they do it right, effectively puts them around minimum wage, and I could go work at a retail store for way less work and the same pay if I was going to pay myself near minimum.

The reason they won't let you do "coffee cups" is because it's too competitive for their flat rate scheme. However, a good SEO knows that if a customer wants a keyword, then they will get that keyword. Granted, any other SEO will likely charge you well over $1k for "coffee cups" and 10 related keywords, but they wouldn't tell you flat out "no."

"Coffee cups" has 5k exact/246k global searches and the first page sites all have decent authority. That's why they don't want to do it. Maybe it's too hard for them, or maybe they just don't want to change their price structure, but the point is that they told you no when you deserve a yes because it's your site.

Never heard of Rankpop before. Have you asked for their portfolio? So as to get a quick look on how effective they are.

it is $450. a month but you only pay if your overall score goes up from the previous month. I noticed a lot of the keywords that were branched off of "Coffee Mugs" didn't even rank so that concerns me a bit because obviously they'll go up from not even ranking.

I just requested their portfolio info as well.

Okay well that at least makes a bit more sense. If you are going with them, you at least ought to ask the contingencies about when you're in those top positions and movement is slow, or when you reach #1 and rankings need to be maintained rather than improved.

Just sent you a pm with more Info.

What do you mean by that? Just curious

Not related to this company - topseos ( it's a competitor actually :D), but it's the seo company i respect.
While rankpop can only rank for 2 significant keywords: affordable seo and guaranteed seo, in my data base, topseos ranked on page #1 for 2394 keywords and top 3 for 1163 keywords related to SEO. ALL of them are very competitive, as you guys known. Such as:
seo company
web design company
link building
seo software
seo companies

To OP: if you have a good budget, go with this. They know how to do SEO to themselves, surely they would know how to do to yourself. Not just like SEO-gurus, talk - report - talk - report....all the times but never can rank any keyword for themselves.
best wishes,

Has anyone here worked with this company in the past? If so how did you fair?

what are these companies going to do for you besides what is advertised here on bhw? Are they going to take your 500 - 1K a month and just hire a bunch of fiverr gigs or hire a few VAs to do manual blog commenting? what if they get your site penalized/de-indexed from being on a private blog network that gets exposed/de-valued 2 months after you have paid them all of this money?

Basikboy, the best seo agency is 'yourself'!
I believe in doing seo for my own websites. It does not take long time. You dont have to spend ages on it. And you can of course find people on fiverr or dp to do the lower level stuff for you.

Without any doubt they have a good reputation. and some of my friends and top rated bloggers have used them and all of them are satisfied. I just hate their flat rate thing. how can you take a project without knowing it? It can be worthless also can be worth. So its a tough question.

I tried them out for two months. Ended up negative in both Bing and Google. I asked them over and over for reports, and they never sent any over. Then last week, I started showing up on all of these wedding blogs, along with several other companies they were promoting.
