I think I've read enough to try and make a functioning website now with Wordpress; problem is should I start with this? I have read many ways people have started out and now i'm sort of confused. Would it be worth the 17$ for a .net domain from wordpress?

Also how can I know if the niche i'm using is worth it?

-Many thanks, Em

You can find cheaper domains from other sites, 95% which have the abiliity to install wordpress in 1 click.

Some sites to check

namecheap
netfirms
godaddy

Check the domain section on here, as im sure there is some coupons kicking around to get the domains cheaper

For the niche, make sure there is a decent amount of searches per month, a decent CPC if your using adsense, and low competetion, search the forums here to find information on how to check all this

i made the mistake of buying a wordpress domain before i found decent advice on here, it was a waste of money because you can get them so much cheaper elsewhere.

this is what yo do.

1. hostgator.com for hosting

2. namecheap.com for domain

3. point your domain to your server

4. use the 1 click wp install in your hosting account.

5. if you get hostgator + domain and get stuck then...

send me message and i will get you straighten out through teamviewer or skype for free because im feeling like a nice guy today :)

What is CPC? And for the competition should I look for something around the .1 range?

So far I've been looking for a niche for my site.. one of the toughest things I've ever done.

Selecting a niche is hard work. But no matter which one you choose, it won't be perfect. Make the best decision with the information you have and stick with it.

Download a trial copy of Market Samurai to make the kw research easier. They have some built-in filters and a very useful training videos.

Came across this when I bought the WSO. Download the Niche Detective, www.seonichedetective.com/philippines-disaster-relief/ (opt-in req'd)

  • A very simple tactic that uncovers the top Clickbank, Amazon, and Commission Junction super affiliates, this will allow you to see their website, what products they're promoting and much much more

  • Eliminate the trial and error process by finding out what's already working and modelling it, after all success leaves clues, so why reinvent the wheel yourself?

  • Skip years of frustration of trying to rank for a keyword that'll never see the likes of page 1, instead spend seconds finding out how easy a keyword will be to rank before building your first backlink (Hint, it's MUCH easier than you think)

  • Gain an unfair advantage over those using traditional research methods by discovering niches and keywords you may never have thought of yourself
