Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well.
From 2016-2018 I was in the IG business growing specific instagrams to launch different E-Commerce stores along with selling shoutouts. For the time invested I was doing pretty great. I used automation software to follow/unfollow, like, and on some accounts post content for me. I was following/unfollowing between 300-600 people a day. The accounts were at the time about 2 years old each. So they have some good age to them right now.
I want to get back in to building accounts again because I have some target businesses in mind but based on some lurking here it seems as if the algorithm changed sometime in 2019 where follow/unfollow wasn't a viable option anymore.
A few questions,
1.) What exactly did the algorithm change?
2.) How would you compare Instagram account growth from 2019-2020 ?
3.) Is the follow/unfollow still a viable option?
My accounts that I would like to pick up where I left off are all in the same niche
25k account ~8% engagement based on 3 posts in the last 3 days
16k account ~8% engagement based on 3 posts in the last 3 days
14k account ~6% engagement based on 3 posts in the last 3 days
4k account ~5% engagement based on 2 posts in the last 2 days
And of course build some fresh ones, I have 15 accounts over 5 years old I can still use.
Looking forward to the replies,
Thanks!
