Hey guys, I'm currently looking for a laptop that can play games a medium-low to medium-high graphics. The games I would be interested in playing on this laptop would be NFS, minecraft :P, bf3 (alright with lower settings), World War Z, and other fps/role playing games alike minecraft.

I've been searching for awhile and came across this laptop, reviews seemed pretty good and the only cons were about Windows 8. Here is the link for the laptop (NVM can't post links, here are the stats)
[h=1]Acer Aspire V3-551G-8454 Notebook AMD A-Series A8-4500M(1.90GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi AMD Radeon HD 7670M[/h]
If you know anything about gaming computers then let me know if you think this laptop will suffice. Thanks!

i absolutely hate AMD.. go with used/new (depending on budget) dell xps 15-17, you won't go wrong

Don't really know to much about different parts so can someone tell me what is wrong with AMD? Some of the reviews say that they can run bf3 on medium. I'm not really looking for top of the line, just a computer that can play low settings without lag.

AMD Overheats badly in laptops especially when you load up many programs on your harddrive..I do recommend HP Intel I-5 6GB ram 2 GB vid chip. 7200rpm HD depending on where you are walmart and HP direct has good deals now..

Best of Luck

Check out MSI GE60. Core i7, 4GB ram and with an NVIDIA GeForce GT650M (1st class vcard according to Notebookcheck). The i5 version is much cheaper at around $850. This laptop can run almost any games today from medium to ultra high.

Get one with Intel i-3 or better than that. I have Intel i3 with Ati Radeon 6490m, and it plays Metro 2033 pretty well (which is known to have pretty high requirements). I haven't tried Battlefield 3 yet, but I read in some forums that it plays that one well too, with low to medium settings.

Generally laptops should be avoided if you wan't to play games better buy a desktop pc for those money you pay on the laptop you might be getting a better desktop configuration...

ALIENWARE! THE KING OF GAMING COMPUTERS! But they cost too much..

I would say to stray away from DELL completely. They are very unreliable for gaming and end up having various internal problems which are not easy to fix and sometimes even require you to send your laptop in.
MSI has come out with very good laptops. I paid about $900 for my MSI laptop and it works like a dream. I play games, code, and have like 10 diff programs on at the same time and it manages very well.
I would also say that Lenovo, Acer, and Asus are very good companies to get a laptop. I would not go with HP, mostly due to the fact that they bloat the hell out of your machine with unneccessary software and they overcharge a bit. And ofc, Sony also overcharges by a huge margin.

Although I like AMD because of price/performance, A8 APU ain't the CPU to go for when looking for gaming machine
