These are probably basic questions, but I need help from the Pros.

I have been out of the IM world for a couple of years and just recently returned. Back in the day, there were only three ads or so; now, I see Google allows more ad placement per page/post.
So, I have a few questions:
  1. How many do you place on your articles?
  2. Do you use autoads? Why and why not?
  3. What placement strategies do you use?
  4. What's the minimum space between ads for you?
I excluded ads from showing on the homepage https://abc.com because I'm using the latest post homepage settings. Is this advisable or not?
Do you recommend a static page or the latest post homepage settings? Currently, I have 43 posts on the site.
My pagespeed is between 90-100% on both mobile and desktop.

The site in question is Health-related and started less than 1 month ago, if that helps.

Thanks a lot, everyone!

We place 2 - 3 Ads based on the user experience and Yes, we do use auto ads to automate ads placement and save time.
we aim for a minimum space of 250 pixel between the ads to maintain the user experience and place the ads where they are most visible and least disruptive.

How many do you place on your articles?
Depends on the length.
I have auto ads running on one site and it places about 5-10 or so ads between paragraphs on a 2000 word article.
Do you use autoads? Why and why not?
I have had experience with both. Auto ads takes the headache of A/B tests out for you and gives you a very optimal revenue.
But its nothing like running a detailed a/b test with page hitmaps and stuff where you place the ads the users are most expected to pay attention to. Its quite blackhat, you don't do stuff against the ToS but comes quite close to it.

Its more of an art than a science to do that kind of fine-tuning. I never had that kind of skill but I have seen a few pros do it back in the day and the kind of extra revenue they can squeeze can be insane.
Now ml based auto placement systems are quite capable too and they don't do any of that blackhat stuff.

Also another reason not to use them is that they can considerably slow down a site if they aren't running asynchronously.

Thank you all for your input; I guess I'll still go to Autoads with 6 placements.
