Internet Marketing encompasses many different disciplines. If SEO isn't working out for you after a year, try moving on to something else.
Despite loving this forum, I hate everything about SEO, but that hasn't stopped me from using this forum to advance and earn in other areas of IM.
So to answer your question, there certainly is an easier way, but you need to find what's easiest for you.

Try email marketing or local marketing, driving traffic to your site from local ads and events. Be creative, there's plenty of fish for everyone.
