There was a problem confirming which country/region you're based in.

I'm beyond desperate at this point so I'm hoping that anyone of you might have some input that could be helpful.

I own several large Facebook pages, I make a living with this and heavily rely on the income I make from it. Originally I'm from the Netherlands, currently I'm in Bulgaria on a business trip that takes several months. I have been here since June and had no problems publishing on Facebook whatsoever. It asked to confirm my location on several occasions and it worked the way it should. Until yesterday that is, I got restricted from publishing on my pages and when I try to confirm my location I get stuck in a loop. I have included a photo for you to see the issue.

I spoke to 3 different live agents from Facebook -- the conversations lasted 6 hours in total altogether and they did as much as they can but there's only so much they can do.

When I ask them that if I return to the Netherlands I'll be able able to use my pages again they say: Yes. If t hats true, I have no idea. I'm now considering returning to my home country but I have no idea if this will make a difference.

As you can imagine this is enormously frustrating when you've spent years and years building these pages with your time and money, and you are the rightful owner but can not publish anymore.

Turning location services on, changing my Hometown in my bio: it all has no effect. Everything it asks me to do I have done. It remains stuck.

Has anyone ran into this issue before? Or, do you think that upon returning home I'll be able to access it again?

Do you have additional administrators in your facebook pages? If no, honestly i am not sure why you would build a page without a backup plan.. Just keep contacting facebook support and pray.

I have some moderators which used to be editors, so they can't publish either as of now.

When I look into my mobile app it says Facebook considers NL my primary location so I'm hoping that when I return I can restore access to my pages.

Right now the Business Manager 'owns' my page and is the admin (very weird), so I still 'own' the pages but I'm restricted from publishing.

What i mean is that you have only one admin in the page? The issue now is with your facebook account, and it don't think it will help even if you return.

Yes I do, only one. Lesson learnt for the future that is.

All 3 agents said the problem should be solved upon returning to my primary location. The mobile app still says NL is considered my primary location. But I don't know if that's true. I don't expect that either to be honest.

When I go to Facebook.com/id I get the follow notication:

FB Live agent said this can take up to 2 weeks, which is crazy of course.

I do understand they are trying to help people from blocking unwanted access but now they're just making things too difficult.

Ironically I confirmed my identity to run issue, electoral or political ads, hoping it would have some influence (it did not). But it only took 15 minutes for them to confirm that.

I'm going to write FB Live agents every day and pray for the best

Painful lesson i would say.. Update us again if you managed to get this working, i will harass facebook support if you managed to get it working lol. I have a few of my good pages and business managers down for no apparently reason.

Definitely going to publish updates here for others to read so they know what to do when this occurs as I assume this is going to be a problem others will face as well whenever they travel abroad.

Next time I travel abroad I'm not going to use Facebook any longer to prevent this issue, major advice for those operating (large) pages.

For now I'm going to harass Facebook support every single day. You'll never know if there is one agent that might be able to understand it and solve it better than another.

Small update: Just had another conversation with a live agent, who once again confirmed upon returning to NL everything should be back to normal. I really, really hope that's the case. I was supposed to stay here for 2 more months but I'm flying home on Sunday. I'm immediately going to try if it works on the airport. Will report back on Sunday.

Another update: I managed to get access to 2 of my 3 pages I own with another profile I own (made up name). I made this profile administrator of those pages a year before. For some reason I managed to confirm location and it granted me the possibility to publish. This gives me some hope that I'll get access again with my main profile back home.

So important advice: When you own a page that matters to you: Make 2-3 people you trust administrator so the page will never be lost forever.

I'm not trying to spam here so I will publish one final update on Sunday.
