There should be a chat box on BHW

Wouldn't it be nice if you could chat with all the BHW members on the site? There should be a chat box installed here. Doesn't have to be visible all the time. A link on top of the page to the client would do just fine. How will this be a good thing? Maybe the site will become more social and it will prevent noobs like me asking stupid question on the forum which only require only a yes/no answer

Bad things?Mmm...Less posts, bad for SEO :\

I actually would like to see this implemented, I know I have no say in it, but it would cool. Not a shoutbox, that's lame, I'm referring more along the lines of Facebook's IM toolbar at the bottom of the screen. They already have on for vBulletin, it's called Comet Chat, and it would be far more useful than private messaging, as it's real time. You could keep it to "Friends Only", so you won't have to sort through all the members of BHW when you wanted to chat.

You spend enought time wading through PM's... This would eliminate 90% of your PM's lol, just fire a quick response back to them and they go away.

Thnx 0P, something i had already a long time in my mind. Would love this option BUT it must be restricted say 100+ thnx to see the damn option and participate.

Facebook has this. And it's the most fucking annoying thing in the world in my opinion. Every time the page refreshes, the chat thing refreshes, and I hate it. I don't want that in BHW. But that's just my opinion.

Just placing the link to the chatbox in the forum's header would be fine, so everybody could see it. When the link is clicked, the chat client opens in a separate window. I saw this on many sites and it works pretty well if there are enough members.

I have a chatbox on my forum only for 'subscribed members'.

I don't have it open to everyone because it can use a lot of resources.

But it would be nice to see something here, maybe for donors / vip members?

I know my members love it.

Agreed,

I think it would make things a little messy here with new members and spoon feeding issues etc. I'm fine with keeping chat off site myself.

Just make it like thevault's chatbox. Your only logged in if your on the page, otherwise its business as usual.
