i am trying to steal some websites ranks on seo, i tried to link to my blog using my competitor's ranking urls as anchor text, within few days, my blog took over my competitor's position, i am wondering if this really works, who can try this stuff and give me clear feedback

please encourage me by commenting

I have never tried this. Would be interested to read about your results.

Am unsure why using a different URL as your anchor text would help you rank. It seems strange, although could possibly have an effect.

What kind of links did you make to your blog? It could also be that the links were just good regardless of the anchor text, which helped your page's authority. If your competitors weren't very good, then that could have you beat them regardless of the anchor text.

Or it could be something else entirely. There are many factors.

Help me understand this more clearly OP

So you have a website (let's call it yourwebsite.com) and then there is your competitors website (let's call it competitorswebsite.com)

So you built links to yourwebsite.com by using www.competitorswebsite.com as the anchor text. Am I right?

If yes then this is the 1st time I've heard of anyone doing this. Not sure how effective this strategy will be long term?

Do you mind sharing some other details about this technique? What kind of links did you build? What's the kw comp like?

Thanks :)

I'm pretty sure this will only be effective if people decide to type your competitors URL into Google, and how many people actually do that?

Hmm.. Yep, haven't seen anybody do that. But might work if your competitor is a big name and people actually search their name on Google.
