So sick of hearing every idiot saying everything works with ai

There is no such thing as ai people.

There is something called a computer program. There is something called machine learning.

What the fuck is ai?

It's just a general catch-all term now. There is no need to panic :)

I felt this way at first, but now people over using it made me so lazy that I use it as a catch all aswell.

It's just a hyped futuristic term that morons seem to get wet about.

Lol, everything these rookies talk about AI this and AI that and doesn't even fully understand how it even works lol. I guess AI to them is just chatgpt

It is just a new term of computer algorithm

Artificial Intelligence is a huge field of computer science, so of course there's a such thing as artificial intelligence. If you're saying that AI is being misused as a marketing term being used to promote features that aren't really AI, I agree with you. But that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. When a computer is able to make decisions on new data based on weights and biases that have been set by machine learning, that is artificial intelligence. In many ways, artificial intelligence is simply the application of machine learning.

We don't have an AI that can do everything yet, and most AI can only perform the tasks that it has been trained for. But over the last few years, AI models have become more capable of being applied to tasks that are way, way outside of the purpose that they were initially trained for. The fact that large language models can be applied to text generation, image generation, video generation, image analysis and music generation is pretty incredible. I thought the ceiling for LLMs was far below where it is now, although I still don't think they are the route to artificial general intelligence.

It's not magic, and some of the marketing hype is beyond ridiculous. But claiming that there's no such thing as AI is really an argument of semantics and a misunderstanding of what AI is meant to be. If you mean "computers can't think" or "AI models are just making predictions", then, sure, most people in the field of AI would agree with you. But the idea has never been to create a model than can think, it's been to create a model that can demonstrate human level intelligence based on data that it has not been trained on. And I'd argue we passed that threshold some time ago.

It's a programed trained Human Intelligence. How about that?
