there is a scammer among us [what would you do?]

hey guys....

posted some job thingie in the forums a couple of months ago.... needed some programming work.

guy replied.

we talked, he said he could do it.

sent a paypal for $40 for it.

The guy fell off the face of the planet. Tracked him down and gave me some lame bs answer.... it'll get done, had computer issues or something.

i emailed the dude... nothing.

PM'ed him here last week, he finally replies saying he can do the work right away and get him the details.

WTF? are you for real? I had someone else do the work cuz the guy fell off the face of the planet.

Told him I wanted the $40 refunded.

The guy hasn't replied since. (of course)

I have all the emails and PM's saved.

A thread in the "shit list" section

I moved this thread to the "Shit List" section.

- Send him an email and/or PM and tell him that if
he does not resolve this issue amicably, he will be
hearing from a BHW staff member.

- Give him 24 hours to respond. If you do not hear
from him within that time frame, send me all details.
Include his email, BHW user name, and transcripts of
any relative communication you have had with him.
I will then approach him with an ultimatum.

NOTE: It is always best to deal with reputable
members of BHW who have a decent iTrader
rating and have been around for awhile. That
doesn't necessarily mean that you are guaranteed
anything, but you are more likely to have a better
outcome if you do business with reputable members.
