    Hi,

do you think big G gives any additional credit to a site that gets clicked?

whenever I search for my own site to see where it comes in serps, when I find it I always click it, and navigate within it for this reason.

I might be over analysing I just would never search for a long tail phrase then click a competitor sight incase G gives them any credit for being the site visitors want to visit...

Probably nonsense but I do it anyway!

Your theory is actually sound but limited in scope. What I mean by that is yes, the G does record the click and any subsequent navigation within your site as evidenced within Analytics. Better staying power and navigation = love from the G. However, we all know how intelligent it is and I am pretty sure they will have on record your IP address and may after a while discount hits from the same address (thats just a theory) but sure, clicking on your own site and navigating around will not certainly do any harm.....

It is a dangerous practice because unless it is the last thing you do on google you probably are indicating to google that the site wasn't what you were looking for in the context of the search and so you came back to google to keep looking.
