Theory on one reason Elon changed Twitter to X

The letter X can indicate something that is only suitable for adult consumption. There is the X rating in film. XXX is used to designate pornography. Twitter is the only major social media platform where porn is allowed. Elon himself has started leaning right more and more in the area of free speech, which is also now associated more with Twitter since his takeover. So instead of X just being a cool name that Elon has always had in mind, I think it might be a conscious choice to brand Twitter as something where you can be, do, and say more than you can elsewhere, while not limiting itself to that. Of course, it goes without saying that it could become a marketplace for AI and/or human-created porn, or even the biggest porn site. X can also be used to represent the unknown, which might make it more appealing to Elon and another thing more conducive to the intersection of his personal brand and the site brand. After all, he is a space explorer. I'm just rambling here, but I thought it was a little bit interesting.

Also, now that Twitter has been renamed X, maybe people could start referring to a DM as a DMX. That is just my little joke in honor of the great rapper, DMX. But maybe it could catch on.

He most likely had it because of his autistic tendencies. What I mean is tha he likes the letter X and he even waned to call one his other companies (or rather companies he was part of) X, but they said hat it would sound too much like a porn site.
 
it's as simple as because elon is mentally unstable and needs attention to have people talk and theorize able him and what he is doing.
 
Not sure what I just read, but whether he named it X but given how erratic he is, X probably has zero meaning to him other than sounding cool. Probably just did it for fun.
 
Elon is probably the only sane person over there in Hollywood, so I respect him. For the name X, he had a company in the past called X. So, he took it back.

Elon went to Hollywood? When did that happen, haven't seen any elon movies.

you could be right, but as we always knew Elon senpai is unpredictable and no one know the next move he will make, could be a form of show his power and flex that with millions dollars you can do almost anything.

In mathematics, "x" is often used as a variable, that is, a symbol whose value is not constant.

In programming, a variable could also contain any value.

Maybe Elon Musk is not so crazy, and what he wants is for Twitter to stop being a microblogging platform and become something that cannot be categorized, that is, a platform for everything.
Maybe something like Wechat in China, where they use it for almost anything.

Anyway fucking Elon is very crazy so anything can happen :p

He actualy said why he wanted to do it. He wants to turn twitter into a digital ID/wallet/all in one platform including banking.

He did it simply because that X.COM domain had been sitting there doing nothing for ages. So, he decided to put it to good use. :D

Elon Musk is an overthinker, he knows how long he has been thinking of changing the logo before now. Overthinking affects mental health.

I am not, but from the sources I know, he at leas likes to refer to him as havin autism.

I think he knows how to market his companies, but if he keeps missing deadlines when there will be more competition in the electric car industrie, I am not sure if people will desire a less reliable company and trending comapny over a reliable and less trending company. In the end. Yet I am open to see more companies with a frontman as vocal as him, for the sake of entertainment.
