Theory on Duplicate Content and website quality

Here is a simple theory not yet tested

What is a good website for google ?
A website where people can find interresting articles about subject that they looking for isn'it ?


If these people have a blog talking about the same subject , they will certainly copy these interresting articles on there blog/website and tell there visitors where this article comes from ?

This article will be detect by google as duplicate content from http:// this-great-website / this-great-article
and the blog page will not be indexed , but for the original website it is like a user review "okay this article is great because people copying it"

To my opinion it could be better than just a backlink from this blog , it could be the ultimate proof that your website is usefull and interresting


In this case , you can build several free blogs with some unique articles and then when you publish a new article on you website, publish it on these blog and don't forget to add the source
(not an anchor backlink but the url directly) Also wait google to cache this new article before posting it on these blogs

I believe it is important to explain about Google's supplemental index.

I believe that pages that have duplicate content are in fact indexed but not on the main index but on the supplemental one.

Those "duplicate pages" will never rank because they are on that index but it will give value to the original article.
