Probably because this happened in broad daylight in the middle of a very large, developed city.
 
bring it on! i have played more than enough video games and watched more than enough movies to know how to handle zombie apocalypse
 
the guy was probably on pcp, ive seen people do all kinds of crazy shit while on that. like this one time i was in a shady neighborhood in southern cali a few years back. saw some naked guy being chased by several cops. all of a sudden he stopped and started having a boxing match with a metal light pole, and i mean he was beating the shit out of that thing (had blood all over his hands). the cops tried to pull him away then he started beating the shit out of a couple of them. they finally tazed him and managed to get him in the back of a police car. found out a few days later from someone that was friends with one of the cops that the guy was on pcp. pretty fucked up stuff...

And that's good advice even before the face-eater. Every time something fucked up happens here, I know it's gonna be from Florida.. sometimes Arizona.
