Okay, so if someone has made overt statements about wanting to hack someone else's computer, and then they do, and then some time later that computer does something illegal, how is law enforcement to prove who did what? Did the owner of the computer threaten to blow up some government office, or was it the hacker? If the owner of a computer "lets" a hacker hack into his computer, is he responsible for whatever crimes the hacker commits?

Put all of this into a court of law, with an intelligent defense attorney and you and 11 other dipshits are on a jury, with instructions to figure this all out and apply the law. Inviting someone to make an overt statement of intent to hack into your computer might work out well for you if in the event a crime is committed and you wind up on trial.

As an FYI, no jury I will ever be on will ever convict anyone of anything where the evidence is computer records, transcripts, whatever. It's all bullshit. It can ALL be faked. I feel sorry for those poor SOBs that get convicted based on computer evidence, and only because juries are stupid.
