The Weirdest cPanel Issue: Does Someone Know What It Could Be?

Hey everyone,

I am unable to login to cPanel of ANY of my sites hosted on different hosts. It keeps kicking me out. The error message says my IP address has changed, please log in again. When I do, it kicks me out again telling me basically the same thing.

I first thought this was my host's fault (they are trying to help me but not successful so far). Then I remembered I have accounts with other hosts too and it's the same there. So this must be something about me then? But what it could be?

I can login this forum, for example. I can login my Gmail, my Yahoo Mail, my Adsense, my affiliate dashboards with different companies -- it is only cPanel that doesn't work.

Anyone has any idea what could be causing this?

Haven't seen this for a long time, especially across multiple hosts like you are saying. You could try a few things:

1. Get something like CCleaner and run that
2. Are you connecting via proxy or VPN at all? If you are try from your normal IP, otherwise try via a VPN or something
3. For your hosts, you could ask them to set the Cookie Validation setting from strict to loose in the tweak settings panel to see if it helps
4. How are you connecting to cpanel, using /cpanel or the port number :2082 or :2083? Try all of them to see if any work, ie:

https://yourdomain.com/cpanel
https://yourdomain.com:2083
http://yourdomain.com:2082

I am connecting mydomain.com/cpanel -- this would usually redirect me to their server URL and I was always able to log in this way until now. It seems like my host has just figured out what to tweak and now one of my accounts works. I still have several other accounts with them and also with other host that I need to fix.

I researched the issue some more and it seems like my IP is changing too often. I am connecting as usual without anything special. So it must be that my Internet provider has changed something recently. Weirdness!

If your ISP is changing your IP that often I would say they need to calm it down a bit
To be honest if you keep hitting problems like that, get yourself / make yourself a cheap VPS / VPN / Proxy and bounce through that

My IP is hyperactive now I didn't even know the issues like this even existed, to be honest. If my other hosts won't fix these validation issues for me, I will probably have to do what you suggested. Oh well!
